Any thoughts or feedback on the weekend moves by Eagles cutting Gaffney & McCants? Anyone suprised by any of the receivers they kept and anyone know the reasoning behind the decisions?

I am surprised that Gaffney was cut.

Further, I am surprised that Reno Mahe has managed to stick around this long. If Buckhalter can stay healthy, is RM redundant?

I think his ability to return punts has helped Reno. I was suprised by Gaffney too.

I was surprised that they kept Greg Lewis and Jeremy Bloom over McCants and Gaffney.

I was surprised by cutting Gaffney. Jeremy Bloom is on IR, and they need depth at WR. I thought they should have put Avant or Baskett on the practice squad and let them develop.

Gaffney showed flashes of brilliance when he was playing for Houston. I guess maybe he was never able to take it to the next level?

Then again, David Carr hasn't exactly been the best QB in the past three years because he can't stay upright long enough to deliver the ball.

Gaffney will land somehwere soon, I'm sure.

Could the decision been motivated by money, meaning was Gaffney's salary higher than some of the players they kept and the Eagles were trying to save on expenses?
