Source You could go to his website and read it but it's in another language.(Spanish)
I guess Gasol is trying to send a message or just trying to see if it could work for him since Kobe did it.
It would be great if Gasol added, "I'd like to be closer to my family at this point in my career." LOL.

The Lakers just don't have the pieces to get Gasol unless they want to trade Kobe. It's that cut-and-dry; end of discussion. On a side note, that's not exactly a trade demand. He's been saying that kind of stuff since last January, and frankly, the Grizzlies have done a pretty good job of surrounding him with the right talent, so it's a moot point.
<div class="quote_poster">shapecity Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">It would be great if Gasol added, "I'd like to be closer to my family at this point in my career." LOL.</div> or "Some brotherly love and I'm not talking about Philly"

One I'd like to point out that while Kobe has people making his site for him, it's painfully obvious that Gasol is on his laptop somewhere in his underwhere since theres a number of typos in that post. ANYHOW- what a b*tch move. Kobe talks to the media, his coach, the GM and the owner and even some guys at the local mall (god thats funny), and Pau just posts it on the internet. Thats the equivalent of texting your girlfriend you wanna break up instead of doing it face to face. Man up Pau.

This is a guy who is a cheap shot artist, cheated on his wife (probably in an act of rape), and drove away the best big man in NBA history from the Lakers. And now there's all this whole drama with the trade demands and all that nonsense. Gasol, on the other hand, didn't even demand a trade. He just said he wanted to win. What do you want him to say, that he's looking to lose? He's a Grizzlie, and he's going to stay a Grizzlie until someone can put together a respectable package to get him (probably something huge involving Amare, Bosh, etc. --- someone with the same youth, size, and superstar status Gasol has --- meaning not a lame package of Odom, Bynum, and some other Laker trash).

Voodoo you got some balls posting that in the Lakers forum. Duck and cover boys, this may get ugly.
i agree with voodoo, kobe has done nothing but be a pain in our backside. yes he is a fantastic player, but if he were a leader, a player like duncan or, dare i say, lebron (i know but hey he's doing better than kobe) us laker fans would be very happy about our season. but ko0be has done nothing but score alot of points, thats it! nothing. we cant even make it past the first round while utah and warriors can. and they didnt even make the playoffs last season. KObe needs to shape up or ship out, and if we decide to trade him i think if we are getting three or four good players in return then we will have one of the deepest rosters in the league. kobe is not a team player, its a fact that he has a terrible attitude and is unbeleivably selfish and childish, players like this, no matter how well they play, will not get you a championship (unless ofcoarse you have the greatest ceter of all time on your team, which kobe managed to get rid of).

I just thought that was sort of funny, considering Kobe's own personal history. He's definitely one of the two best players in the game today (maybe the best, but I'm not sure how to compare him to Duncan --- two completely different players), as an individual talent, but his personality is very "bitch"-like, and that's why most of the NBA fanbase outside of Los Angeles can't stand him. EDIT: Everyone realizes Pau didn't even demand a trade, right? He just said he wants to win, not leave town.
I agree with Voodoo too. At least Pau hasn't went to the media with his demands, said he wants to stay in Memphis forever, then reiterate his demands all in the course of 24 hours. Until Pau does that, Kobe is the bigger prick in this situation. I was just surprised Voodoo said that in the Lakers forum. There are some guys in this forum that would defend Kobe if he walked up to them on the street and started taking a **** on their shoes. "I'm sure you have a good reason Kobe! Wanna use my shirt to wipe?"
Drove away Shaq? Bullshit. It's been stated numerous times, even by Dr. Buss himself that there was no way in hell the Lakers were going to give Shaq the 30 million a year extention that he wanted. Shaq was out of his god damn mind. Innocent until proven guilty, right? Never proven guilty, hell the girl f'ing dropped the case, she's a known whore. I don't condone the act that he cheated on her, though. I lost a lot of respect for him as a person because of that. Cheap shot artist? He flailed like most every other NBA superstar, so what?

It was defending Gasol's character in comparison to Kobe, not outright calling Kobe out. I'm sure there's 100 threads in this forum with a bunch of useless bitching on that subject already. But I'll digress... If Kobe weren't on the roster, Shaq still would be. When guys like Buss say stuff like that, they're saving face. Kobe's innocent, but can't the same be said about is O.J. Simpson? Either way, a cheater is a cheater; he is not man enough to remain faithful to his wife. That's enough reason for me to not like his character. And actually, the cheap shot artist comment was moreso directed at the shot he took Mike Miller. It's one thing to start a fight during a dead ball, but to go for another player's windpipe in the middle of action? That's one of the dirtiest things I've seen in all my years of watching basketball, up there with the Reggie Evans incident. But now that you mention it, those "flailing" movements are pretty cheap. Funny though, I wasn't even thinking about that when I made my original post.

He was also on the decline (Heat are also capped out for the next few years due to him, and they're only paying him 20 million a year). As for cheating on his wife (I personally would never do that but anyway), a bunch of NBA players do that, that's not really anything to get pissed off about. And the rape case was dubious (Mamba touched on that). Mike Miller did crack Kobe around the eyes which is pretty dangerous as well, and Kobe could have been going for the chin/face. It was kind of cheap but Mike isn't that innocent. http://youtube.com/watch?v=CtIZf-rDu1w
