I don't have the articles up, but Francis states that one of the teams he would play for are the Lakers, and Kapono states that he wanted to become a Laker for the longest time now. Thoughts? Someone PLEASE put up a link for this.

Francis will be great at the point guard.

Kapono will not be a Laker as he agreed to a four-year deal believed to be worth $24 million with the Toronto Raptors

Francis' contract will be bought out by Portland and he may be willing to take a big pay cut. If we can aquire him without touching the MLE I would welcome him, hes an upgrade over anything else we have.

I'd welcome Francis, at least he knows his worth...the MLE.

Kapono is already off the market, like stated above, he has agreed to a contract with Toronto.

Is Francis what we are looking for? He's more of a shoot first PG, I think we need a pass first PG with size and can defend. I still say go for Papa from Greece.

Francis is an upgrade at PG over Smush, but they're identical. I thought the Lakers need a pass first PG?

To be quite honest, I really wouldn't mind a shoot first PG. We already have two very passive players in Odom and Walton, it would not be a bad idea to add someone who isn't afraid to take shots. I'm sure he would have no idea deferring to Kobe and with the tendencies of Odom and Walton have to disappear, it would be nice to have someone who steps in and wants to make big plays. I'd love the signing of Francis if it comes at the right price.

We already have a shoot first PG. His name is Sasha.

I think he'll sign with L.A. just not the Lakers... the Clippers are also interested in Francis and since his bff Cat Mobley is there i'm pretty sure he'd prefer to wear red and blue over purple and gold.

The Lakers need another consistent scorer. Francis could possibly fill that void as well. Francis with the full MLE. I'd go for it.

This is what I was thinking actually when I heard he was being released. Could definitely give Kobe some scoring help.

considering you don't need a "true" pg in the triangle (ex: paxson, armstrong, harper) then francis wouldn't be that bad of a fit in La La Land.
