Rashard Lewis' Agent: "There is No Better Fit Than Orlando" YES! I'm so glad those reports were wrong! <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Orlando Magic might have the inside track on their rumored #1 target in free agency. Rashard Lewis' agent Tony Dutt says "There is no better fit than Orlando" for his client. Free agents were allowed to start talking to teams Sunday morning at midnight but will not be able to sign with any team until July 11. The Magic are likely to have anywhere from $13 to $16 million in capspace to sign a scorer. Much depends on how contract talks go with their restricted free agent forward Darko Milicic. The most likely scenario for the Magic to land Lewis would be working out a sign and trade deal with Seattle since the Magic also want to re-sign Milicic which will eat into their capspace. If Magic General Manager Otis Smith can make it work, Orlando might just be Rashard Lewis' new destination. "Orlando is a good situation. It's a fit that could work," Dutt said. "If the parameters are there, they can make it work. "It's very intriguing to Rashard."</div> Source: Orlando Sentinel
Well we haven't signed him yet, that will be the tricky part. Otis has been pretty good at trading, so let's see if he can come up with an intriguing enough offer for getting Shard. Would you deal Ariza, JJ, or Jameer in any trade to get Shard? Cap room and a draft pick probably won't be enough for a potential all-star like Shard.
I wanna give Redick another shot. He didn't even play. Trade Jameer and Bo Outlaw and Garrity for Shard. It's fair.

Seriously though, I think a package of Jameer Nelson, Hedo Turkoglu, and a future first could pique their interest.

They make me argue with them so much.

(Hedo'd be dumb not to pick up his 7 mil player option). They wouldn't want Tony Battie's contract either, which makes this really hard. I'd keep Trevor, but I would deal JJ or Jameer. They already have Ridnour and Watson at the PG spots, so I doubt they would really want Jameer, tbh. I'm just hoping expiring contracts, immediate cap space, JJ and next years first unprotected would be enough to pique their interest.
