All the attention is on Yi, but with Milwaukee now stalwart that they're not looking to trade Yi, and with them being stacked with big men, what do you guys think about trying to pry Charlie Villanueva away from them? He had some injury problems last year, but he's always looked extremely solid when I've seen him play, and he's not getting big PT in Milwaukee. Check out his stats, for 25 min/gm they are rather good. He is big and athletic, not super-fast but not lead-footed either, and has a decent jumpshot out to 18' or so. Good zone defender, not as strong man to man. He's no KG but he could most likely be had much more cheaply too. I wouldn't mind seeing what the Bucks would want for him. He has 3 years left on his contract, $2.7M this year going up to $4.6M two years from now.
I think Charlie V would be a good addition, but I'm fearful that Don Nelson would just sit Brandan Wright in favor of Charlie V. Or worse, continue to play Al Harrington at a big man spot. There's nothing wrong with adding more depth to the power forward spot until we know what Brandan Wright can do at the nba level. The kid is only what? 19? As a big man, he might take a while to develop... Charlie V and AH at the power forward spot could be really good offensively.
Bucks needed a swingman, so possibly sign and trade Pietrus or Barnes + Filler? Not sure how much Bucks want for him. Also, doesn't CV eat brains? j/k
Good point. Everyone is trying to get Yi, but it really is worth exploring CV. I think he would be a great addition to most teams, but I don't think the Bucks will just give him up either. They traded TJ Ford to get him and now have point guard problems!!! Would definitely be worth a look, but I figure they will hang on to him.

The team played extremely well last season with Harrington as the center. I would much rather see him play PF than SF as well. Harrington as the PF/C is this team's advantage. Remember this is Don Nelson we are talking about. Don Nelson makes the opposition adjust to him. There is no way Don Nelson is going to be adjusting his style all of a sudden, especially after it gave this organization its first winning season ever (or close to it of course). The Warriors traded a starter for Brandan Wright, and drafted a very nice prospect in Lasme. I don't think Nelson wants anymore bigs than that. I agree with fatballer_10 in that it's good thinking and exploring after their draft. I just don't think it's something Nelson would want.
While Charlie is fine in the run and score part..Harrington has been better on D and both are inadequate rebounders. We drafted as if Nellie's here permanent, and Nellie still appears to think rebounding is optional. We just flipped a G who's a real good rebounder for a Euro G who's only grabbing a board that hit's him in the hands. Our new POWER F weighs about the same as our PG and didn't rank in the NCAA top 200 rebounders. We lost a playoff game in which we were outboarded by 20 Any time we were CLOSE in rebounds-we generally won. Despite his wisdom in many things,Nellie and Mully are old SMALL FORWARDS and just don't appear to quite grasp the fact that at least half the shots taken in a game will miss. If Nellie COULD assimilate SOME power game, some rebounding at least....we'd be a contender. Until then..we ambush some good teams but the teams that execute and have balance negate our trickery.
