Tell my why we gave Kwame a third year and extended Brian Cook? Without them, we'd have what...13 million in cap space right now? We could have landed any of the following pretty easy: Rashard, Billups, Nocioni, Mo Williams, maybe even Vince. Instead we give the money to Kwame and Cookie...

But whatever, hindsight is 20/20 right?

Probably because everyone thought that Phil Jackson could help out Kwame. I don't know why the hell Brian Cook was resigned

Kwame's extension was a result of the team not successfully acquiring one of their free agent targets. The Lakers left the cap open to go after Yao Ming and Amare Stoudamire.

Brian Cook's extension was mind boggling. I'm really hoping the deal for Luther Head goes through with Houston to unload Cook. Is this deal still even available?

I doubt it, I don't think the Lakers expected Crittenton to be available that is why they had that deal lined up.

Resigning Cookie was stupid.Kwame was just resign since the Lakers FAILED to sign some of the best players like Bosh,LeBron,Amare and Yao.

What about there going to be traded and Mitch resigned them so they can have a little a bit more value towards a trade?
