Well, who do you think they will target?

And who do you want them to target.

I honestly do not think we need any guards or small forwards. I think we need more defensive minded big men to go in a grind it out in certain stretches of the game. Sammie doesn't do it for me.

I did hear the guys on the radio saying that next year the team needs to go hard for Elton Brand and they said that he would fit in perfectly on the 6ers.

    Thoughts???

    2007 Free Agent List

Our roster is loaded with players right now (16 to be exact) we are going to need to get rid of some of these bodies before we can sign anybody. However, two guys I think we should look into signing are Michael Sweetney from Chicago, and Earl Barron from Miami. Sweetney is a solid player, his only fault is his weight issues. Chicago will most likely not match his offer sheet if we were able to sign him to one, he is a former lottery pick who still has plenty of game left in him.

Meanwhile, Barron is a bit of a long shot, with Shaq getting up there in age I doubt Miami would let him leave without getting any compensation in return, but we can take a shot. I don't expect to see us sign any big name free agent this summer, but next year is a different story. I wouldn't mind taking a look at Travis Diener, Jason Hart, or my personally favorite DEE BROWN!

Steve Blake from Denver is a can't miss prospect, he played well for Denver last year, and is an offensive oriented PG. Certainly alot better then G-Mac. Earl Barron (Miami) and Andre Barret (Chicago) are guys that fill positional needs as well (C/PG)

Elton Brand would be great in a sixers uniform!! A big body, great rebounder and a good offensive player and a team guy. However you could pull this off, you better do it!!

There is no way to pull that deal off this summer, and even if there was I'm not sure I would do it. Next summer we will be under the cap and Tim Duncan, Kevin Garnett, Gilbert Arenas, etc. will all be free agents. I would hold off on spending my money and take a shot at those guys.

Although, Blake would be nice the chances of us getting him are slim to none with the level of attention he is getting. We would have to offer him the full MLE just to have a shot at bringing him in, and if we did that we would be left with no money to address our whole at power forward.

Yeah, you just KNOW he is going to be a Spur for life. And we have zero chance of KG i would think. Good to stay under the cap though, you have to be in it to win it!!!

I agree, I'm just throwing out some of the big names that will be on the free agent market next year, remember Duncan did almost go to Orlando a few years ago so who knows? Other guys that might be there are Ben Gordon, J.R. Smith, Jameer Nelson, etc. It's going to be a deep year for free agency and it would be smart for us to keep our money to spend. We could really build the team into a contender if we can land a big name like Arenas to go along side Iguodala and Young.

    PG- Gilbert Arenas
    SG- Andre Iguodala
    SF- Thaddeus Young
    PF- ???
    C- Samuel Dalembert

That is a pretty nice young roster than we have scorers like Carney and Byars coming off the bench.

I'm not too fond of Darko, I personally feel that Magic fans somewhat overrate him (Gators admits to that in the Magic forum).

I'm not exactly sure who we should pursue this offseason. If I had to pick someone, it'd be Amir Johnson of the Detriot Pistons, although he is a restricted free agent. Amir Johnson is still extremely young, and has the potential to be a solid player in the league one day. He's not getting too much playing time in Detriot, but when he gets the time, he's shown flashes (or at least that's what I heard). Anyways, I don't really think he'll demand the full MLE

He is to Magic fans what Bynum is to Laker fans.[IMG]

Amir Johnson is only 6'9" he was actually even shorter when he came into the league, so he has more of a small forward mentality. The last thing we need is another small forward on the team.

Darko Milicic has an array of skills, he just hasn't lived up to the billing yet, if we don't get Yi Jinglian, Darko Milicic is another young big man I would like to have on this basketball team.

Yeah I must say, I would not mind landing Darko here. He could really flourish and he has been improving. Plus, he is NOT a swingman for a change!!! Is it possible???
