Any chance the Heat can get him? I think he would be a great fit for us because he's young, he can shoot, and he is athletic. Most of the FA swingmen are going to either stay with their teams or sign w. someone with more cap room than us. Anyone think we can get Barnes?

^^^why is that?.....a shooter of his caliber would benefit greatly from D Wade's penetration and Shaq's interior play.

Ahh, I'm getting too transparent, I guess.

Truthfully, I'm very doubtful as to whether Barnes will leave Golden State. He essentially credits the franchise and Don Nelson with saving his career, he's beloved by the fans, and additionally, there isn't really another team that plays a similar style. The Warriors are compared to Phoenix frequently, but they in fact play a much more scattershot and frantic game than the Suns do. The Suns at the very least maintain the illusion of guards, forwards, and centers. The Warriors go stretches where Matt Barnes might be their primary ballhandler as a bench reserve, and I imagine that's a very seductive thing, especially when Barnes knows he's already respected here.

I don't know, playing for Pat Riley and alongside Shaq and Wade is also pretty enticing as well. He would start here and be our third option on offense. A guy like him could really open up our offense.

I don't think Matt Barnes will fit in an offense thats based off Shaq. It needs to be a lot more uptempo. I don't think theres a chance he leaves GS, especially with Richardson gone, opening more minutes up for him.

I think Barnes will stay, but only if he's willing to take less to play for us, which I suspect he will. The fact is, even if we lose both Barnes and Pietrus, that still leaves us with Marco Belinelli, Baron Davis, Monta Ellis, Stephen Jackson, and Al Harrington all on the perimeter.

Also, don't sleep on Kelenna Azubuike. Warriors fans know how he played out of the D-League, but he's still a relative unknown. He could be a 15-20 PPG guard in the NBA, and he'd be dirt cheap for now.
