I think "best player" is very vague. I think Kobe Bryant is a better player than Tim Duncan, but I wouldn't build my team around Kobe Bryant. Bigger positions typically win championships and make others better because they control the paint and suck in defenses. So, for franchise building, I'd say Oden. You can't go wrong with a very young, talented and physically imposing man child of a center because you know how few of those there are. But if we're talking pure talent and freakish physical skill for his height, I'd say Kevin Durant.

Furthermore, don't buy the Hawes hype (if such a thing exists), and don't be surprised a few years from now when the Trailblazers are lauded for ultimately snagging the best point guard in this draft.

The only thing im gonna say is that the hawks are gonna regret not taking Javaris crittenton w/ that second 1st round draft pick he might not be better than acie law offensively but hes a better true point guard. I think hes even better than that guy conley jr, hes taller 6-5 and was part of a less talented team at g-tech (greg oden will always make look good hes starting point guard at any level) after all thats what the hawks need right now a floor leader someone that can orchestrate that talented team they have up there, im not sure acie is gonna be albe to do that. i've looking at some training camps games and crittenton has led the lakers in scoring a couple times hes trying to prove he can score too.
