Wizards Shopping Etan Thomas & Brendan Haywood

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">According to league sources, the Wizards are considering possible trades involving centers Etan Thomas and Brendan Haywood. However, a source indicated that Thomas's contract contains a hefty trade kicker that would push his salary to about $7.3 million next season, and that has caused several teams to reconsider trade proposals for the veteran center.</div>

These two better not get traded to the same time. They'll start fighting again. [IMG]

The Wizards won't trade both of them together. I'd personally rather keep Brendan Haywood as he's a better defender and has such a positive impact on the teams defense. Etan is the better defensive rebounder, and shot blocker, buut he's a weaker man to man defender, and tries to block everything. Also EJ likes to give Etan more minutes than he deserves.

With the new coach acquisition though, Etan could be more useful as his and the whole's teams defense should improve. They're both good C's really, I mean there's a lot of teams that would like Haywood a legit 7'0 C who can defend man to man, block some shots, and be a positive impact on defense. Teams would also like Etan who can rebound, block shots, and on a halfcourt team with a real PG, both can benefit and finish well inside.

I think for Haywood's and Eddie Jordan's sake that Ernie Grunfeld trades Haywood off. If we do end up with our 3 big men being Haywood, Ruffin and Booth, knowing Eddie Jordan, he'd start Ruffin in there just because he doesn't like Haywood.

I like Brendan as a player, he's a better scorer than Etan is and a better defender, but that fact that he whines so much when he doesn't get playing time and the fact that Eddie Jordan and Haywood will never see eye to eye with each other, it's best to trade off Haywood who's a cancer in the locker room.

Ruffin is not under contract anymore, and I would be very worried if he was to be brought back. I think if Haywood was the only one remaining, EJ would have no choice, then again we could see him starting Blatche or something which really wouldn't be bad in terms of developing him, but maybe not the best idea for the teams interior defense.

It also depends on what either of them get traded for, the Wizards could get a big man in return for them, so that would end up working out anyways.
