http://www.hoopsworld.com/article_22632.shtml If this really happens this will be a great trade for the rockets, who lack a starting power forward. But I can't understand why the Heat would like to pull this trade.
HoopsWorld isn't that reliable of a source, but if this is some real rumor than man that'd be a great deal for us. We lose a Guard in Alston and get a big time Forward with Haslem. I love this deal
Doubt it happens. If the Heat can get Bibby for Haslem, they would do that in a heartbeat. Hoopsworld is a terrible site for insider information, and this is just the speculation of the writer. Besides, the way he tries to play up Alston at Bibby's expense is just comical.
alston for haslem... not a fair trade at all haslem can't do half of what alston does with the basketball alston is clearly the better dribbler and if he was taller, he would be a better dunker that is assuming that he hits a growth spurt
Hmm... losing Alston, in any trade has its ups and downs. It wouldnt be too bad, because we have an excess of PGs. On the other hand, Mike James, can not create like Alston can. Mike James is an excellent offensive force, but I dont think anyone on this team (maybe other than Tmac) can lead like Alston. Bad shot selection, but good leader/controlled player.
But if you get Haslem for it, you'll forget about Alston. Udonis is a solid player who would be a great complement to Yao.

From what I hear Brooks is a shoot first PG, so that means if we get rid of Rafer we have Luther, James, and Brooks running our point. Luther can't run an offense or a fast break to save his life, Mike has a scorers mentality, and Brooks will probably be too young to contribute as a distributor especially considering he's not good at it already. I sure hope Adleman knew what he was doing when he drafted this guy, because I was big on Taurian Green and thought he'd be a perfect fit for this team and our new system.
I'd take this deal in a heartbeat Skip had his momments with us. But the fact remains that he's too erratic. If we had a reliable point guard, theres no way Utah beats in that series (remember when we were up 5 and Skip dribbled off his foot doin a And1 move). I can't see why Miami would do this. Haslem is worth more than Skip.......
I remember saying that getting M.James made Skip more expendable.... What about... S&T for Posey and give them Shane then Rafer for Haslem too Rockets would still have the MLE...... M.Barnes, S. Blake, Marc Jackson, M.Ely
not a bad idea. We all love Shane, but we NEED a legit starting PF so much, and Posey isn't that much of a downgrade to Battier. It's a deal I could see the heat taking. I couldn't imagine the heat accepting Alston for Haslem.
