I thought Noah wasn't going to play because of his shoulder.. are the Bulls letting him play with it, or is he going to sit out and play if they feel he's healthy?

Well, we already know that Noah, Sefolosha and Thomas are there just to prepare themselves for the upcoming 07-08 season months away. Everybody else will be fighting for a roster spot, though we may have plenty open what with the probability that our roster bench will be depleted a bit. That's ok, I like our second round picks and I'm looking to see Marty coming back healthy to prove that he can play in this league. I would never expect much, but I do expect him to be a reliable back up center if he lives up to his potential. Last year was just a major set back and I think he will be looking to secure a spot on the team again.

I think they might give him some playing time sparingly, but I doubt they are going to push him much. If anyone recalls last year, Sefolosha played incredible well through the first two games but than tweaked an ankle and was immediately flown back to Chicago. The Bulls know not to put much stock into summer league.

I just wanna see how well Thomas does. He needs to use his athleticism to get to the rim and become that KG mixed with LeBron type explosiveness to the rim.

Indiana Pacers 93, Chicago Bulls 89

    <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">INDIANA PACERS 93, CHICAGO BULLS 89

The first game of the 2007 Pepsi Pro Summer League came down to the final minute as the Indiana Pacers edged the Chicago Bulls, 93-89.

Though they did not have a selection in the 2007 NBA Draft, the Pacers were led by a couple players with prior NBA experience. Kareem Rush, a former Los Angeles Lakers first round selection who last played in the NBA for Charlotte, scored 20 points on 7-of-11 shooting to lead all scorers.

Stephen Graham added 19 points to go along with six rebounds for the Pacers, while Kasib Powell chipped in with 13 points. The Pacers first round pick in 2006, Shawne Williams scored 10 points, but did pick up a game-high eight fouls in 22 minutes of action.

Powell, who was in training camp with the Orlando Magic last fall, hit a pair of buckets late in the game to give the Pacers a five-point lead.

The Bulls got 17 points and seven rebounds from its top pick in the 2006 NBA Draft, Tyrus Thomas. However, Thomas left the court late in the contest clutching his right side.

Andre Barrett added 13 points, while former DePaul standout Lance Williams scored 15 points in 13 minutes of play.

Both teams shot 45 percent from the field, while Chicago held a slight 35-31 advantage on the boards.

The Bulls will play this week without the service of their No. 1 Draft pick, Florida's Joakim Noah. Noah has a sore right rotator cuff and will sit out instead of risking the chance at further injuring the shoulder. Noah originally suffered the injury during Florida's win against South Carolina back on Feb. 21 and hasn't been at 100 percent since. Still, the No. 9 overall selection in last month's NBA Draft played through the pain and helped guide the Gators to their second consecutive national title.

Sefolosha didn't shoot too well. Tyrus had a monster game, 17 points, 7 rebs, 5 blocks, 2 steals, but shot 5-10 from FT. He left the game, hopefully he's alright. Gray did pretty nice, Curry also did well of the bench. Noah DNP.

Tyrus Thomas Shows New Shooting Touch

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">ORLANDO -- The breathtaking athleticism was clearly evident Monday when Chicago Bulls forward Tyrus Thomas met Shawne Williams a foot above the rim and stuffed the dunk attempt back to the floor.

With Thomas, already one of the NBA's most dynamic shot-blockers, the unexpected has almost become the expected now.

Bulls forward Tyrus Thomas is driven to improve his jump shot.
But it was a more mundane effort, Thomas actually knocking down a couple of 15-foot jump shots, that had defenders shaking their heads in Monday's Pepsi Pro Summer League from Orlando.

Thomas' improved shot from the outside hasn't come by accident. He said he's worked seven days a week so far this offseason, often staying in the gym until he makes 700 jump shots a day.
"I just want to use this week to get a lot better and put to use all the work that I've been putting in," said Thomas, the fourth overall pick of the 2006 NBA draft. "Everything that I've been working on, from my midrange game to my back-to-the-basket game, I'm trying to make them better this summer."

Indiana defeated Chicago 93-89 in the summer league opener Monday, but clearly Thomas was the best player on the floor. He made six of 13 shots and got to the free-throw line 10 times for 17 points. He also added seven rebounds, five blocked shots and two steals in one of the most complete performances of the day.

And Thomas did it even though he had to retreat to the training room in the third period after getting banged on the hip during -- what else? -- a dazzling blocked shot.

Gotta Love Ty's dedication. Hopefully he's in the weightroom just as much also. There's also a report on Curry who is said to have been a "dynamic playmaker".

I was hoping he improved his jumper, but hopefully he just had a bad FT shooting day going 5-10, because you would usually improve that along with your jumper.

Tyrus Thomas has said some stupid stuff that has caused him to gain some haters, but the guy is a pro and is going to be a future star.

    Tyrus >>> Curry

I graduated highschool with lance williams LOL he finally got a shot after playing overs seas for so long . I saw him at macy's a few weeks ago I didnt know he was trying out for the League. But Ty will start next season. He and Noah are gonna be beasts in the middle. And with his improved shooting he can swing from PF to SF when needed if we trade noch or BG. I bet PJ helped him with his shot.

Chicago Bulls 92, Charlotte Bobcats 80

    <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">CHICAGO BULLS 92, CHARLOTTE BOBCATS 80

In the final game on day two of the 2007 Pepsi Pro Summer League, the Chicago Bulls rode Tyrus Thomas and his highlight reel worth of dunks and blocks to a 92-80 victory at the RDV Sportsplex in Orlando, Fla. The win moves Chicago to 1-1 and drops Charlotte to a record of 1-1.

Thomas was a handful early on for the visiting Charlotte Bobcats, as he was all over the floor, scoring six points and registering four rebounds while blocking two shots in the opening quarter alone to pace the Bulls to a 24-17 lead after the first quarter. The Bobcats were noticeably missing their floor general, Raymond Felton, who had played the night before, but was shut down for the rest of the week by the Bobcats coaching staff.

With Felton out, the Bobcats were led early on by Jermareo Davidson, who scored eight points in the first half. Adam Morrison chipped in with seven in the half, but that wasn?t enough to overcome 13 team turnovers as the Bulls extended their lead to 52-40 at the half.

The Bobcats came out in the second half looking to make up some ground and went on an early 7-4 run, but any momentum built during that run seemed to evaporate after a thunderous Thomas dunk gave Chicago a 58-47 lead. At the end of the third quarter, Morrison launched a deep three for Charlotte that cut the Chicago lead to 73-62.

Charlotte wouldn?t give up though and cut the deficit to six, trailing 78-72, but once again Thomas ended the Bobcats run by getting a steal and then throwing an around the back pass to Thabo Sefolosha who finished with a dunk. On the night, Chicago shot 52.6 percent, while Charlotte shot 41.5 percent from the field.

Thomas led all scorers with 24 points, while Sefolosha put in 20 and center Aaron Gray recorded a double-double with 10 point and 10 rebounds for the Bulls. Morrison led Charlotte with 17 point on the night.

Despite not being able to play, the No.10 overall pick in this year?s draft for Chicago, Joakim Noah, has made his presence felt by being a vocal and visible cheerleader for his team from the bench. </div>
    Box Score

Nice to see Tyrus having another good game, and to see he isn't injured from the scare yesterday. Thabo had a nice game as well, scoring 20 points. Gray had a double-double. Don't know why Marty didn't get a chance to play.

I don't usually read much into summer league, but Tyrus has been beastly. Look at his numbers from the line 10-16, thats an incredible improvement from last year. Props to Ty for getting in the gym and working on his weak spots.

    My boy Tyrus.

Now I'm curious what the score would be like had Noah played. I mean it really doesn't matter but I would like to know how he would fair. My guess would be amazing. He's kind of a cocky kid and I don't think he would let a Summer League roster from Charlotte make him, a consecutive title winner, look bad. Nice to hear him being a team player from the bench. I'm liking Noah more and more.

Anyone happen to catch Spencer Hawes performance in summer league? Horrible shooting from the most "offensively polished" big man from this years draft class, including a missed dunk. Anyone still wish we took him over Noah? Obviously, its still summer league, but the guy looked worse than Luke out there.

Here is the final score from todays game Bulls-77, Heat-66
    http://www.nba.com/media/magic/071107_chimia.pdf

Tyrus struggled offensively, but made up for it with 12 rebounds and 5 blocks. Aaron Gray had a nice offensive day, same with Sefolosha, and the kid Gardner (who made a good case for himself). Marty didn't play again, wonder if he still hasn't fully recovered from his injury last year.

By being out there he is doing more than Noah.

I saw Hawes first game where he had like 19 points, after that I looked at the 2nd game, he had horrible shooting, but don't remember the rest.
