Michael Wallace and Barry Jackson of the MIAMI HERALD writes, "Heat coach Pat Riley made a late-night recruiting pitch Saturday -- wining and dining free agent Mo Williams -- in an attempt to land the most coveted point guard remaining on the market. Williams toured the Heat's facilities at AmericanAirlines Arena and ended his daylong visit by dining with Riley at a South Beach restaurant late Saturday."

good news. its definitely better than nothing happening at all or some phone call or something. hopefully things will go our way and we'll land him.

I think if I were Mo Williams, I would sign with the Heat. You have Wade and Shaq, both guys the Bucks have nothing like, and Riley taking you to dinner, definitely not going to get a better offer then that.

How would the Heat get him? Do they have any cap room or are they planning a sign and trade deal? Or the MLE or something?

I'm assuming the would offer the MLE, but a sign and trade would probably be the most reasonable scenario since Mo Williams can't be gotten for the MLE when a guy like Jason Kapono is making that amount. Even if Kapono wasn't making that, a 17 PPG, 5 RPG, 6 APG point guard who can shoot well is worth more than the MLE.

I think we will do the sign and trade with Posey and Williams. I think we should look at a young PG as well form the summer league team. I think Darius Rice should get a shot to be on the roster especially with Simien's injuries.
