Cleamons On Hand For SPL Opener

And Play2Win, which featured And1 street baller Kenny Brunner, was a little better at getting into players' heads with trash-talk, setting hard picks and throwing nasty elbows. Play2Win, the defending two-time SPL champion, out-muscled the foreigners 81-70 in front of a crowd of about 300.

"I'm just watching basketball," Cleamons said. "I knew today would probably be the only opportunity for me to come out and watch his team (Play2Win) compete."

Cleamons had coached 7-foot center Marciej Lampe of the Polish National team in New Orleans and Oklahoma City. Lampe had 13 points and six boards against Play2Win. </div>

It would be my guess. A lot of times assistant coaches are sent to the SPL games to scout players. They usually play 4 games per day, which gives a coach a look at 8 different teams.

The Lakers do need to add another big man, so scouting Lampe makes sense. Unless Mihm gets realistic about his contract demands, the Lakers aren't going to bring him back.
