<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Before they take their search to the free-agent market, the Jazz have two possible backup point guards to replace Derek Fisher on their summer-league team in Dee Brown and Eddie Gill. Brown is playing in the Rocky Mountain Revue although he has yet to sign as a restricted free agent. He said he hadn't thought about his status until reminded by reporters and added that he has no problem having to fight for minutes behind 23-year-old Deron Williams. "You always got to pay your dues and wait your turn, even though the guy's your age and all that,'' Brown said. "For me, this is a winning organization, so I want to be with a winning organization and play with another great point guard, and especially him being my friend. "You can't think about yourself. You've got to think about the whole aspect of it. What kind of teammates you have? Do these guys want to work? Do they want to win? That's [the] kind of organization I want to be around. And Utah's got that." Whether he starts or is the No. 3 point guard, Brown said he just wants to be productive and play for a winner. Meanwhile, Gill - a Weber State product - has five years of NBA experience, but spent last season playing for Dynamo Moscow in Russia. "The Jazz have proven to be a high-class organization,'' Gill said, "and coach [Jerry] Sloan presents a hard-nosed group night in and night out, and I feel like I fit in well with that." </div> Source: Salt Lake Tribune
I wanna see Brown at back up PG. I thought he played well the few opportunities he was given last season.
Dee Brown is defenitly better. He should be there instead of Gill. I find Brown to be a good defender with good range, and would benift really well with the Jazz.
Back up point guard? Don't they mean shooting guard? Last time I checked, Derek Fisher was the shooting guard and Deron Williams was the Point Guard. Well Ronnie Brewer and Morris Almond are holding it down at the 2 guard, and if they get Morris Peterson, then will have a very good starting five and depth. I think Ronnie Brewer played sort of a point guard in college, if I can remember correctly. PG - Deron Williams/Ronnie Brewer/Dee Brown SG - Morris Peterson/Ronnie Brewer/Gordon Giricek/Morris Almond SF - Andrei Kirilenko/Matt Hapring PF - Carlos Boozer/Paul Millsap C - Mehmet Okur/Jarron Collins

Master Shake, why are you so quick to write off players that you don't know about? As much as I love Brown's game, Gill's a better player at this stage in his career. He's just as quick with the ball offensively, and he's twice the defender Brown is. His on-the-ball defense is up there with the likes of Earl Watson. If he makes the roster, I'd definitely have him in the rotation over Brown this season. It's a bit of a moot point though, because you've got to assume that Deron Williams' playing time will spike after his play in the postseason.
