That's when he's going to see the fruit of yesterday's labour. That's when he's going to see who wants to play and who wants to sit because now he's got even more combinations to work with.

"The key to our team last year was our depth and we just added to it," Mitchell said. "This is going to make it really interesting every day. Guys are going to compete for minutes."

I like how Sam is making guys compete for the spots, no one just gets it. He also said that they sent Baston an offer sheet for just under 4 mill, which I think is a bit much for him, but we'll see. Also I really hope Moon gets to play this year. He is said to be a freak of an athlete, so I wanna see what he can do.

Raptors sign Baston to offer sheet

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Toronto has signed the restricted free-agent forward and ex-Raptor to an offer sheet, the club announced Wednesday.

The Indiana Pacers now have seven days to match the offer. Financial terms were not released.

The six-foot-10, 230-pounder averaged 2.9 points and 1.6 rebounds in 47 games with Indiana last season. He also played in 16 games with the Raptors in 2002-03, averaging 2.6 points.

But Baston achieved his greatest success overseas with Maccabi Tel Aviv, where he teamed with Raptors swingman Anthony Parker to help the team capture two Euroleague titles (2004 and '05) and three Israeli Premier League championships ('04-06).

I don't mind this signing mainly because its finally not another swingman. Is it just me or does it seem like we have too many guys? Whats our 15man roster gonna look like?

Ford, Calderon, Parker, Delfino, Garbajosa, Kapono, Graham, Jackson, Bosh, Dixon, Bargnani, Nesterovic, Baston (possibly), Printezis, Moon?,

Possibly, I like it. But yea, it is true, we have a lot of guys. However, this looks like a good roster, I just wish we could add some more rebounding, but we'll see what happens.

Looks like its official. I was hoping that the actual financial figures would go down a little bit, once we found out for sure. But it looks like Kapono's still making $6 mill/season. I like the Baston signing. It's cheap (a little over $1 mill/year), fills a need, and he'll probably have good chemistry with this roster.

I think our depth charts will look something like this:

    Bargnani / Nesterovic / Humphries
Bosh / Garbajosa / Baston (if we get him)
    Kapono / Graham / Jackson
    Parker / Delfino / Dixon
    Ford / Calderon

There's a spot left. Printezis is going to develop in Europe for a couple seasons before the Raps think of bringing him over so that leaves Moon, Darrick Martin (?), or whoever else the Colangelo decides to pursue.

Leaves Moon. I am starting to like this guy. I know it's media I'm reading, but what I hear, I want to see him play. He is highly complemented by Sam, and has worked so hard to get here.

I think Martin needs to suit up and become an assistant coach, his time is up. Bosh likes him, because he is a leader, let him stay that way in a suit.
