<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">SAN ANTONIO -- The NBA champion San Antonio Spurs have acquired guard Vassilis Spanoulis from the Houston Rockets in exchange for center Jackie Butler and the draft rights to Luis Scola.

The Rockets also are giving the Spurs a 2009 second-round draft pick and other considerations in the trade, the Spurs said in a news release late Thursday.

Spanoulis said in a telephone interview with Houston television station KRIV from Greece that the trade didn't change his mind.

"Nothing changes my mind. I still want to stay in Greece," he said.

Idk, The Spurs probably know what there doing though, knowing their sucess with developing foreign players.

Well, it's not as if Jackie Butler was really lobbying to take Duncan's spot anytime soon... so I guess, what the hell?

Spurs got owned on this trade. Scola was supposed to be good, maybe he will be. It looks like he will be the PF the Rockets are looking For.

If Scola plays to his full potential, the Rockets could be favorites to emerge in the West. The guy is an offensive beast. San Antonio screwed themselves.

If he comes and plays then Houston have a great PF to go along side Yao and TMac. I still don't think they would beat the Spurs though. I do not think this really affects the Spurs in the short term.

Bad trade by the Spurs. Why trade two decent+ players for a guy who's staying in Greece and isn't as good as either of the two players they traded in the 1st place? I'm liking Scola for the Rockets, though I'm still not convinced he can play in the NBA as well as he does in Europe. I don't expect him to start for the Rockets if he comes, but I see him rather as a 20 mpg backup at PF.

This trade was to shave costs. It saved them around 7 million dollars.

The bad news is...you just made a western conference rival stronger.

We raped you guys in this deal. We gave up someone who doesn't even want to play in this NBA. But seeing how Spurs turn international players into superstars, I think Spanoulis might enjoy playing here. Spurs might change his decision.
