"That's the main reason I decided to change agents. It wasn't anything that (Neff) did or didn't do. We'll see if that was a smart decision or not. Basically, it was just me analyzing my situation."

Wednesday was the first day teams could sign free agents, and Barnes said he has not received the offers he anticipated.

"Right now, there's nothing happening," he said. "I was thinking the midlevel exception was realistic, but my agent has been telling me teams have questioned whether the success I had was because of (Warriors coach Don) Nelson's system and whether or not I could have the same success in another system.</div>

Barnes is not getting many offers for the kind of money he wants. But, if he comes in 1mil-2mil range, maybe we have a shot at him. If we sign Fisher at the price he is asking for, then why not sign Barnes with remaining money? This is highly unlikley but just a thought.[IMG]

Considering he wants the MLE, not a chance he signs with us for 1 million, which is the amount we have left of the MLE

^ Barnes is a vet. So if we can, I'am not sure. Put the 1.3mil that we still have left on the MLE with the 1.3 mil on the vets minimum together. That gives us 2.6mil to give to Barnes.

Can we put the two together though? If we can, 2.6 million would be great. I still don't think we'd be able to land Barnes, but it can possibly land us another quality player

The MLE and vets minimum are two different things, so I'm pretty sure we can't put them together.

You are correct. You can't add them together.

Well doesn't that suck. I guess the Lakers won't get Barnes unless he wants to settle for the Vet's minimum.
