Deal would pay Argentine star $10 million over three years <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Rockets have come to a "basic agreement" with Argentine star Luis Scola, less than 24 hours after acquiring his draft rights from the San Antonio Spurs. "We're working on the contract, but we've got a basic agreement, an understanding," George Bass, Scola's agent said Friday. "He's actually taking the physical right now in Argentina." The Rockets traded guard Vassilis Spanoulis, a 2009 second-round draft pick and cash to the Spurs for the rights to Scola and center Jackie Butler. Scola is expected to sign a three-year deal worth roughly $10 million. "He's so excited, he probably didn't sleep a wink last night." Bass said. "He's thrilled, this has been his dream for five years." </div> http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports...kn/4967005.html Great news. Fairly cheap sign, making Scola an excellent acquisition. Does this count towards our MLE does anyone know?
Great news. Can't wait for this guy to come over. Meanwhile we still have a glut at point guard. Time for a couple more trades, the MLE and we're all set.
Yeah it cuts into our MLE but we'd probably still have $2 million or so of that left to spend as well as the LLE. Enough for a solid backup foward/center, at the very least. Can't wait to see Scola.
Can we combine the LLE (roughly 1+ million) and the rest of the MLE (around 2 million) to sign a player for around 3 million?

If they resign Deke, it'll probably be for the vets minimum. And unless Hayes is an unrestricted FA, he shouldn't dig into your MLE since you already have his rights.
