<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">In a league filled with top-10 picks ? Kevin Durant, Jeff Green, Spencer Hawes, Yi Jianlian and Mike Conley ? Rockets guard and 26th overall pick Aaron Brooks was named the rookie of the month for the NBA Summer League after scoring 18 points to lead the Rockets to a 98-93 win over the New Orleans Hornets on Sunday. Brooks joined the 14-player all-tournament team after the Rockets went 4-1.

"It went pretty well," Brooks said. "We won four out of five games. I think we accomplished what we wanted to accomplish."

Um.... you mean Adelman right? I seriously doubt Morey can "Clear minutes" for a player.

Well Morey would need to move some of the PGs for Brooks to get a chance, so I think he means Morey.

I'm happy to hear this, looks like Rockets REALLY knew what they were doing. He got rookie of the month over many GREAT players.

Affirmative. If Morey doesn't make a couple moves, Brooks might end up on the inactive roster, which would be a shame.

If mike james isn't motivated to play well then AB will easily be the back up by mid year. Can he play some 2 as well? He doesn't appear to be much smaller than Head

Uhm AB is a LOT smaller than Head. AB is 5"11 while head is 6"3.

    Great News!

What do you guys think of dealing away rafer to make room for Brooks?

I'd say we see how he plays first. Let him proove himself. He'll get minutes here and there at first, and if he does well he'll get more and more minutes. From there we can deal off Rafer for a deeper bench. Or maybe even battier and rafer for a legit 3rd scorer.

I say we wait. With Rafer, we know what we are getting. Brooks is still unproven in the NBA.

I'm not too comfortable with having James start yet. I like him better as a change-of-tempo guy off the bench. Speaking of similarities, Brooks might be closer to James than Alston.
