<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Cleveland Cavaliers are offering a $6 million a year deal for Anderson Varejao, but his agent, Dan Fegan, is asking for a $9-$10 million a year pact. The Cavs will not pay it and, because Varejao is restricted and no teams who want him have cap space left, they will not have to pay it.

Fegan does not like to compromise and may rather have Varejao play out a one-year qualifying offer and become unrestricted next summer</div>

9-10 million of Varejao? Wow. This year's free agent market is really messed up

Hmmm....for some odd reason a 7/7 guy with limited offensive ability isn't worth $9-10mil. I could understand him getting the MLE, but he's not worth what his agent wants. His offensive game isn't much to write home about. He's really just a hustle player, and those aren't worth $10mil a year.

To be fair, he has potential, but that doesn't warrant $10 million per year. However, if the Cavs hold out for around $6 or 7 million, then Varejao won't have an option, like Gooden last year, and will probably end up signing a 3 year deal.

Are you talking about 7 mil over three years or 7 mil per year?

per year. I'm basically talking about the in and around MLE mark. If he signs for that, I will be pleased. If not, they have to try a sign and trade, which will be tricky due to the BYC.

See, I think he's worthy of the MLE. Just for his size alone, the MLE seems like a fair deal. But I don't think you can give someone $10mil a year that hasn't done that much yet, regardless of his potential.

At least the GM of the Cavs isn't Otis Smith...Anderson Varejao, 7 Years, 100 Million. Defenitly worth it...

Man, he is not worth 7 per year. I don't even think Bosh makes 7 per year, and he averages a double double.

Bosh signed a three year extension worth somewhere in the neighborhood of $60mil last year. He makes a lot more than $7mil.
