There is one thing lacking on our team that really hurt us last season was shot consistency. We would have games where all of us would miss shots and we would end up losing. I suggest we do a S&T for Matt Barnes. We have the rest of our MLE but that will not be enough to sign him because he is looking for more cash. Golden State is said to not want barnes back because of the money he is seeking and also for other reasons. IF golden state prefers to do a trade than how about we send our expiring contracts to Golden State for Barnes. Barnes for Sura and Lucas Sura is an expiring contract and Lucas fits the Run n Gun game really well. Barnes instantly becomes our backup SG/SF. With this deal barnes will be making roughly 4.5 million a year. I personally feel it is to much to give a player who only averaged 9.8 points a game. Barnes stepped it up a little in the playoffs and I do not know if Golden State would be willing to give him up but i like the idea of barnes joining the rockets.
What would become of Snyder, Wells, and to a smaller extent, Head? I think that a rotation should consist of a starter each at shooting guard and small forward, and two swingmen to come off the bench to spell them. The Rockets currently have that in McGrady and Battier starting, Wells and Head coming off the bench, and Snyder as injury insurance. Adding Barnes would only complicate the situation as McGrady and Battier would be projected to take up most of the minutes at the two positions anyways. Wells, Barnes and Head might only manage to throw in 10 minutes per game, and that's with their versatility to play other positions factored in as well. Snyder would be at the bottom of the stack as well. If we were to invest in another player, a big man should be the answer.
Locke is absolutely right. If we were to S&T for Barnes, we ought to drop Head or Bonzi. Head can hit the big shots anyway. I woudn't call him very consistent, but he can hit the 3's. we all know that. So why get rid of him? As for Bonzi? We need a player like him. There's no one else on our roster who can post up at the SF positioin like he can. Plus Bonzi and Adelman together is jsut so touching. Why would you want to break up that relationship? hahaha. And losing Snyder for Barnes? Well, having him or Head as injury insurance just wastes their talent.
