Walters said the Mavs are one of four teams in discussions about the 6-foot-6 swingman, who has spent all four years of his career with the Warriors.

He's seeking the full mid-level exception of $5.36 million, Walters said. Cleveland and Miami are also reportedly interested. -- Fort Worth Star-Telegram</div>
Aw this would be great. He could come off the bench and provide his sharp shooting skills in crunch time. As long as we don't give up to much for a role player, I'm happy. Maybe Greg Buckner and a future pick for Pietrus or somethin, would be fine by me

He isn't the most clutch shooter, but he can shoot. He is what the Mavs needs off the bench for Howard. An energy skilled player who can deliver. I wonder if he'll give Dirk a hard time in the locker room about the lose?

lmao. Re-hire Nelson as an assistent coach, and not listen to anything he has to say.

CAUTION: Barnes is the better of the two Warrior swingmen. Barnes routinely shows the ability to move, cut to the basket, shoot from all angles, and handle reasonably well. Pietrus, despite his impressive numbers off the bench last year, is shaky at best shooting threes from anywhere but either corner, has a lot of trouble traveling when trying to start a dribble, and is almost completely out of control on the rare occasion he drives to the basket.

Plus it seems that Barnes has a lot more heart and attitude when he plays. Plus he has more defense. If i had to choose I'd take Barnes, but i wouldnt mind having either of the two on the squad.

When Pietrus was first drafted, he showed shutdown defensive capability. I don't know if it was apathy, lack of playing time, or what, but his sophomore season, a lot of that seemed to be gone.
