<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Lakers have re-signed center Chris Mihm, but terms have not been disclosed. Mihm, 28, didn't play last season after undergoing reconstructive ankle surgery last November. He averaged a career-best 10.2 points and 6.3 rebounds in 2005-2006. The Lakers now have 14 players under contract. The league maximum is 15 players.</div> Source: LA Times
This gives us some insurance if we can find a taker for Kwame Brown. Hopefully, Mihm has been working on some new moves and did a lot of upper body weight training while he was injured.
This is excellent news. Shape, what is the maximum we could've given him? I want to gauge just how much Kupcake screwed this one up.

My guess is Mihm got a similar deal Brian Cook received, which $3.5M per with no increases. Deal is probably worth a little over $10M would be my guess.
Mihm gives us more depth. Now, I'm not going to comment until I hear the actual amount we gave him, but hopefully it's a relatively reasonable 1 year deal. If he proves himself this season, he can get the bigger deal he's looking for.
Derek Fisher / Javaris Crittenton / Jordan Farmar Kobe Bryant / Maurice Evans / Sasha Vujacic Luke Walton / Vladimir Radmanovic Lamar Odom / Ronnie Turiaf / Brian Cook Chris Mihm / Andrew Bynum / Kwame Brown That is a deep team...but not overall talented. I'd like to really push the Artest for Kwame and Farmar deal now, especially with Mihm being back.
Yeah the depth does improve with Mihm back, but I don't think he's going to step in and become the starting center. He's going to start off 3rd on the depth chart behind Kwame and Bynum. However, I think Mihm could pass Kwame up in minutes by the end of the first month. I'm assuming the Lakers didn't use the rest of the MLE on Mihm, so we have another $1M to spend on the final roster spot. I'm hoping James White is in fact released by the Spurs, and the Lakers give him a strong look. He has all the tools to be an effective basketball player. I also would love to acquire James Singleton from the Clippers, also a free agent. He's similar to Mo Evans, explosive leaper, and has a nose for rebounding the ball. He's around 6'8 and can play either forward position.
What happen with mihm going to Phoenix or Chicago. He was just trying to test us well at least we got a big man
Team's deep, but let's not fool ourselves. The addition of Chris Mihm, even at his full strength, still doesn't give this roster enough to make it out of the first round. We still need a big move. With the addition of Chris Mihm, Kwame Brown and his 9 million dollar expiring contract should be expandable. With the addition of Javaris Crittenton, Jordan Farmar also becomes expandable. Hopefully a Kwame Brown and Jordan Farmar package can land us something. Like Mamba said, we should push for Ron Artest
I like Mihm, I just hope his ankle didn't set him back a lot. I'd start him over both Bynum and Kwame, honestly, I think he's better than both of them offensively right now.
I hope we didn't sign this foul for the rest of our MLE we need to sign atleast somebody else...I doubt Mihm will start for us...
Now ship Kwame, and Farmar for Artest. And Bynum and Odom for O'neal and Granger and you got yourself a title
<div class="quote_poster">Dark Hero Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">I hope we didn't sign this foul for the rest of our MLE we need to sign atleast somebody else...I doubt Mihm will start for us...</div> Why not, there's only $1.3M remaining from the MLE, the rest went to Fisher. If we signed Mihm for only $1.3M it's a steal.
totall agree with shape its a steal to sign a 7 footer than knows how to play but if he wants tha MLE he has to prove himself this is is contract season rite here
i think this was really a good move, i just hope he can put up some good numbers!! mybe 9/6/1, more you cant expect
