    Chance To Compete
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Jul 19 - Anthony Carter said in a phone interview Wednesday that the Nuggets are planning on exercising his one-year contract next season paying $1.1 million. The 8-year NBA veteran said Nuggets coach George Karl told him he'd have a chance to compete with Chucky Atkins to start at the point.

"I'm coming to training camp like it's anybody's job," Carter said. "I won't come in thinking it's (Atkins'). If I get it, I think he'll support me. If he gets it, I'll support him. We can play together and support each other. I've never been a hater." -- Denver Post </div>

I think that either of them could start. I would have preferred to see Brevin Knights name here (I have said that in previous threads I know).

I think between them though, they may be serviceable at the point. The competition should bring out a friendly rivalry and a quest to be the best so it can only HELP the Nuggets right.......?

why not ai? ac and atkins don't really seem like starting material to me anymore. I mean ac couldn't even break our poor pg depth

AI will play the SG, but I say play JR Smith there, and AI at point.

    PG - AI
    SG - Smith
    SF - Anthony
    PF - K-Mart
    C - Camby

Smith might be out. Considering that car accident. Does anyone have an update on him?

I heard he was doing well. Some where in the Nuggets forum is a thread on him. I think it is updated. he should be recovering. If he does get back to full health but the beginning of the season, I hope he starts.

Anthony Carter starting..?? I think it would be best if AI started the point with JR Smith at SG. Atkins is a servicable backup but carter doesnt have much of anything. He's a less talented version of Kevin Ollie, and thats pretty bad.
