The first 15 games of the 2006-07 refereed by Tim Donaghy that had big enough betting to move the point spread by at least 1.5 points were PERFECT against Las Vegas ? meaning that the big money gamblers won a 15 of 15 times on his games. The odds of that happening randomly are 32,768 to 1.

    *** Over/Under Bettors a Perfect 6-0

During the 2006-07 season, there were 6 games refereed by Tim Donaghy in which big ?over/under? betting moved the Las Vegas line by more than 3 points . . . the big money gamblers won all 6 of those games. </div>

Oh my God! Now you know he did it! Perfect? incredible. 15/15 is like looking at the a teacher, then cheating off another kid, when the teacher sees you. It is so obvious.

    2005-2006 Game Log

Here's an inside look at games he officiated in comparison to the Las Vegas Spreads for the games.

I think the NBA will be able to do a better job of spotting "abnormal" trends by charting this type of information.

The NBA needs to spend more of their security resources to track "illegal" gambling activities and not the legal ones. Las Vegas has plenty of algorithms and insiders to spot abnormalities in the way bettors lay down money. However, illegal gambling doesn't follow the same regulations, so there's a higher chance of corruption.

<div class="quote_poster">NYC_Balla Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">This video is stupid. The Spurs won because they can play at a slower pace - the Suns can't and they got frustrated, Antoni blew his top, etc. Spurs took the Suns out of their game - mentally and physicallly. I watched Game 3 again yesterday and if you REALLY think the Suns should have won that game, but didn't because of Tim Donaghy, you are obviously an idiot. Some of the calls weren't even by him that are on there. Refs are humans and miss some calls. Yeah there was some acting going on by the Spurs, but so what, that happens. And about the suspension, stoudamire and diaw left the bench. Why is this so hard for people to get??? since the brawl, Stern has been strict about leaving the bench - it's that simple. but Suns fans want to live in a fantasy world where their team would have won it all if it wasn't for a couple of calls here and a suspension (that was deserved) there. wake up. Suns can't play at a slow pace, you have to do that to win the ring baby. I'd like to see Simmons or Cuban referee a game - all these guys do is complain. And then everyone jumps on Stern. Stern's done a great job in making the game grow.</div>

I don't think you get it. The Mob doesn't care who wins these games. Unless of course, there was a guy named Franky sitting in a cigar shop in Brooklyn and thought "hey let's screw the Suns". What probably happened is this: when the NBA assigned Donaghy to referee Game 3, the main consideration for the Mob was which team will it be easier to rig the game for. The Spurs were favored by 4 in that game but ended up winning by 7. The Spurs shot 9 more free throws than the Suns Now look at that tape again and count the amount of times the announcers call "late whistle" for the Spurs. Especially the play where Donaghy calls the Ginoboli foul from half court. Then count all the non-calls on the Spurs that were blatant fouls.

See, that's all it takes to rig a game. If they were pouring money on the Spurs to cover 4 points, you can EASILY do that with one referee. Every time you miss a call on the Suns and hand one to the Spurs(which is exactly what happened) is a total net of 3.5-4 points.

That and the fact that it's much easier to rig a game with a rogue referee for the home team than it is for the away team. If the NBA assigned Donaghy to ref Game 1 then you could bet the farm that the Suns would have won that one. And I'm not a Suns fan, far from it, but if you can't see the damning evidence in that game then you need to lay off the cool aid before you start calling people idiots.

How can dispute this? Sten has globalized the game since he took over as commissioner.

Stern did push the league hard and it's the reason why the players are multi-millionaires. He was very very fortunate to inherit the league at the right time with Magic, Bird, and MJ though.

I agree, but it was Stern who decided to market the superstars of the NBA instead of the teams. It's backfired with the new generation of players, since no one has been able to handle the torch, but Stern deserves a lot of credit for expanding the game of basketball.

Donaghy Cheated in High School, College

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Long before NBA referee Tim Donaghy landed in the middle of a betting scandal, he had a rep as an operator.

Back in high school, he was suspected of cheating on his SATs by fooling an aging nun, a former teacher at Cardinal O'Hara High remembered.

The cheating allegations against Donaghy - who is now the target of a federal probe for allegedly betting on NBA games, including several he officiated - were never proven. But he was later heard bragging about the alleged scam.

"I taught him for a year, and I think every homework assignment he turned in to me was copied," one teacher at the school told the Daily News.

The same teacher said years later he was in a New Jersey bar and heard Donaghy boasting to pals that he had cheated his way through Villanova University.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">High-school pal Egbert said he long heard the rumor that Donaghy did not take his SATs, but always thought it was an "urban legend."

A teacher at the school, who asked to remain anonymous, remembered the incident well.

The teacher said Donaghy, who graduated from Cardinal O'Hara in 1985, was taking the test when he left to use the rest room. A few minutes later, another teen allegedly took his seat and finished the test, the teacher said.

An investigation was launched, but the nun who administered the test couldn't say for sure if Donaghy had pulled a switcheroo, the teacher said.

"The nun said she thought it wasn't the same kid who took the rest of the test. But she was in her 70s, and she wasn't 100% sure," the teacher said.

Fearing a lawsuit, the principal dropped the issue, he said.

About a month later, another teacher at the school said he overheard Donaghy bragging he had someone else take the SATs for him.

Interesting read, the article shows what type of person Donaghy really is
