He is getting older and I'm not sure if this is the best thing for him to do in the off-season. He could get hurt, be too tired for next season, etc. I wouldn't mind it if he was younger, but at this age I think he should just rest in the off season and come back in training camp at a 100 percent.

The first time it was Kidd saying Sean Williams probably hasn't played basketball in a while. These guys are professional basketball players. It's what they do, it's what they love, and it's all they know. What do you think they do in the offseason, sit on the couch and eat potato chips? Sure, they'll vacation, golf, spend time with their family, etc.; but they play just as much basketball on their own terms as they would with an organization like Team USA. From our country's standpoint, this is great news. Chris Paul and Kirk Hinrich are great floor generals, but neither one is the defensive presence that Kidd is, and our backcourt really got burned defensively in our loss to Greece last summer. Had Kidd been defending Spanoulis, we probably would have won the gold.

I'm sure he worked out, and even played a couple of games with other ballers. He definitely wasn't just sitting on his ass, but it's not like he played intense games or something up to his level, like he would have, had he not puffed the Magic Dragon. Just saying.
i'm sorry but if you can't have Nash starting for Team USA, the next in line HAS to be Kidd. I don't care if he's 45, he's easily the second best PG

You can`t take a chance with him, especially him being the teams leader.
Like Kidd said in a past interview, with his age, it's easier for him to get out of shape and even harder to get back in shape. I think he knows what his doing guys.
