Might be a good move tho.
I think Haslem is wishful thinking if the main piece going to Miami is Alston. Haslem has been a major contributor for the Miami Heat, and is the perfect compliment for Shaq at the PF position. Haslem chases down the rebounds Shaq can't get to, and Haslem cleans up nicely on the weakside when Shaq draws the double team and throws up a brick. Haslem can also step out and hit from 17 feet comfortably. Haslem took a discount to stay in Miami and the Heat would have to rely on Antoine Walker to play starter minutes if Haslem was dealt. The only logical sense would be if the Heat are looking ahead to next summer already and are trying to get as far under the cap as possible to sign another big time free agent. The Heat have about $10M in cap space next summer, and dealing Haslem for Alston would save them another $2M.
I hope we don't ask for Udonis haslem or michael doleac i hope we ask for dorell wright and wayne simien.

If this deal does go thru I wonder what our depth chart at the 4 would look like.

Good to see it's a real possibility now.</div> I bet you forsaw the signing of Francis. The only way this trade would have been possible is because Francis signed. Don't take credit for stupid things. You just threw in a bunch of names and said lets get them. Alston wasn't even on the trading block at the time, so Haslem would have been impossible to get without Alston. You never even came up with a trade proposal. You really are full of **** you know that?

Now the miami is in desperate need for a PG, they can give us Haslem and dump salary. I'll give you the fact that your either really good at forseeing the future or you got lucky, but fact of matter is...you did predict it. ON THAT NOTE, i could be an a** and ask for the quote of when you said it and link, but ill give you the benefit of the doubt.

It was by sheer luck that he was right about one of them, not some inside knowledge. He never even mentioned that we would obtain Haslem. He just put out a list of options that he thought could help us. At the time he proposed it, we had nobody worthy that Miami would consider that was available for trade. The idea that we would have traded Alston without signing Francis is preposterous.

Apparently Rock4life saw that and took it as "credible insider information", and so he saw it in his crystal ball.
Haslem for Alston? buwhahahahaha... There is a huge logjam however on the Houston roster, so hopefully we'll see a couple trades before then.
LOL @ Rock. Seriously dude, you wonder why we gang up on you? Any humble guy would've let it go and not gone with the "i told you so" story, but you couldn't resist could you?
I really hope it is not for Doleac and Haslem. I don't see what we get in doleac and Haslem that we do not already have. What Doleac does Butler can do when given the chance plus Butler is young. What Haslem has Scolas has more. Haslem has mid ranged jumper Scola has that. Scola is also better on offence and is pretty descent on defence though not as good rebounding but i still do not think it worth it got him. If it is a deal to Miami i prefer a deal for Dorell Wright and Wayne Simien. Two guys that have not been given minutes with a chance of producing. Simien i believe can produce as much as haslem when given the opurtunity. Wright i believe could be another asset for us to play an uptempo system.
If they are willing to give up Haslem, I'm sure they'll be asking for either Brooks or Head in the deal.
No. It's just funny to me that I can throw out a scenario and catch all kinda flak for it. But as soon as the source becomes credible, everybody's back on the bandwagon. <div class="quote_poster">foo82 Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">He didn't forsee crap. Now he's just shifted his criticism to another thread. Not surprised Seriously, Haslem is better than Scola and Hayes put together. I don't know why some of you assume Scola's that damn good, but Haslem is OBVIOUS the better option as a starter (plus an NBA title to prove it)

Why do people assume Scola is good? Well, there's a lot more evidence for it than against it. Two Spanish League MVPs, Olympic champion, played pro overseas for a decade, etc. Why do you think he's not worth a damn? There's no evidence of it and you've really never given a reason, but that argument is an entirely different thread, so I'll end it at this. And as for Haslem, you bring up an NBA title. How does that prove he's better? Because he played on a team with Shaq and Wade? Because he played such a huge part in winning that title. Last I knew, if it wasn't for Wade averaging what, nearly 40ppg in their four wins over Dallas, they wouldn't have done anything. Had Wade not went on a complete tear, Dallas would have likely ended it in 5. I don't see where Haslem was such a huge part that you can bring up his NBA title.

Then you said that the Grizzlies got the better end of the Gay-Battier trade. Not only did you just say those things, but you wasted hours of my time debating me on both. Good calls.
They just signed Smush Parker, they may not need Alston but I hope they can take Alston out of our hands.
