<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">DETROIT (AP) -- The Detroit Pistons signed forward Antonio McDyess to a two-year contract extension on Monday, keeping the team's top reserve off the free-agent market next summer. McDyess, whose career once was in doubt because of knee operations, played in a career-high 82 games in each of the last two seasons. He has one season remaining on his current deal. "I'm excited to have worked out a contract extension with the Pistons," McDyess said in a statement. "We have enjoyed a lot of success as a team since I came to Detroit three years ago and I look forward to the upcoming season and making another run at an NBA championship." The 32-year-old McDyess averaged 8.1 points -- making 53 percent of his shots -- six rebounds and 21 minutes a game last season, finishing sixth in voting for the Sixth Man of the Year. "We are pleased to have reached an agreement that will keep Antonio McDyess here as an important veteran leader on this team," Pistons president of basketball operations Joe Dumars said in a statement. "Antonio has been a major part of our success over the last three years and we look forward to his continued solid play in the future." </div> Source: Yahoo! Sports
Damn, you beat me to it This is great news for us, MyDyess has been the cornerstone of our bench these past 3 years, and retaining him was instrumental in making another run at the Finals.

To me I'm surprised teams like LA or the Kings didn't go after this guy. He is a goos shooter, can start, come off the bench, a vet and brings toughness( Just ask KG). He is one of my favorite PF, I just have nothing but respect for this guy.
<div class="quote_poster">Montaman Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Hasn't Antonio McDyess been 32 for, like, three or four years now?</div> You read my mind. I guess we think that way because we were fans back in the mid-to-late 90's when Dice was an All-Star with the Nuggets. Had it not been for that knee injury, he could have been the next Amare Stoudemire, or a player in that mold at least. He posted 20.8 ppg, 12.1 rpg, 2.1 apg in '00-'01 for Denver in his one All-Star season, but before hand he had several good seasons that were just below the cusp of All-Stardom, like his 21.2 ppg, 10.7 rpg, 2.3 bpg season for the Nugz back in '98-'99. He then only played 52 games over the stretch of the next 3 years though, including a 10-games season and a season in which he completely sat out due to a knee injury. A lot of the young fans should know the type of player he once had the promise to be. Him, Kemp, Baker, Schrempf, Richmond, and Gugliotta represent the mid-90's NBA to me. None of those guys get any respect by the younger fans though.
