so this weekend #1 ohio state takes on #2 texas...who is going to win this one...the inexperienced defence or the inexperienced QB? and does this decide who plays in the National Championship?

I think McCoy will fall uinder pressure and will throw maybe 3 INTs and a TD. Ohio State is just too dominant and i just dont see them losing this year. Texas just lost too many players and will struggle majorly. i say 27-10 OSU

I'm liking Texas in this and one big reason is because of the leadership of Lionel Sweed. All McCoy needs to do is get the ball to Sweed and big things will happen. Charles will get the job done on the ground, and the defense still looks solid.

If you want to talk about leadership the Ohio State offense definately has some. Troy Smith, Ted Ginn Jr, and Antonio Pittman. Mostly Smith but he has more weapons then McCoy has. If all McCoy needs to do is get the ball to Sweed then Texas will flounder like Georgia Tech did because they just can't rely on one guy even though their defense is good.

I dont know losing 9 out of 11 starters from last year is pretty darn huge and i mean the defense is gonna make a big part of this game up i just dont think that ohio state is gonna have the defense to even slow texas down

Ohio State's offense should be able to move the ball. Troy Smith should be able to exploit the secondary of Texas with Ted Ginn. Ginn should have a big game and the zone coverage probably won't work. The zone coverage can prevent the big play but it'll give up a lot of completions over the middle to the slot WR and TE at the same time. The Buckeyes also have Antonio Pittman who should be able to provide a nice run game on Texas.

Texas' offense should be able to move the ball as well. Ohio State showed a weakness last week against the run. Texas should create many opportunities for Selvin Young and Jamal Charles to go to town. I also like Colt McCoy to go over the top to Limas Sweed once in a while.

In the end though I like Ohio State to win in a close one. I think they're in the exact same situation as Texas was last year. Ranked higher and nobody thinks they can go on the road in a hostile environment and win the game even though they do have more talent overall. I like Ohio State in this one by a TD. Could go either way and should be one of the best games of the year. Personally I think the winner can run the table and go to the BCS Title game.

Ohio State impressed me i still do not believe that they are the best team in the league and i do not believe they will fall from the #1 spot either but they will lose to ND in the National Championship

You still believe Notre Dame is all that and a bag of chips? I'm mean I know Georgia Tech is a good team for an unranked team but that is what they are an unranked team and if they had trouble with them then how will they fair against a decent top ranked team. Don't tell me Penn State is that good either because they aren't half the team they were last season. We will see how they do next week and then we will see if they are really that good.

Texas shouldn't have been ranked #2 in the first place. This was all a TV ratings thing...

texas has dropped down to #8 now, i think thats appropriate i mean they lost their QB who was the #3 pick in the draft it makes sense that they would get a tad worse

i think ohio state definatly justified their #1 ranking though in this game

Who called it? Well I didn't really call it but I said we will see how good they really are when they played Michigan and look what happened. 47-21 rout.

It's better to lose early than to lose late...Notre Dame could easily turn this around and still make the title game with 1 loss. Michigan always drops one that they shouldn't. There was only one year I can remember them not performing up to that theory and they shared a National Championship that season. However, if they go into the Ohio State game undefeated....wow...ok...both teams could be undefeated at that point...how much bigger does that make the biggest game in all of college football?! Sadly, both Michigan and Ohio St. most likely can't make the National Championship game because they play each other at the end of the season.

You never know. If all the other teams lose two and they are undeafeated going into that game then they could do it. Also if both teams beat every team by an impressive margin then there si a slight possiblity they could still be number 2 but then the polls would be even worse.

I was pretty stunned to see ND get beat so handily by the Wolverines who have notoriously under achieved in recent years.
