Yes, and this is what they did:

A best definition of "creating for others" would be using dribble-penetration to draw the defense and in turn create open shot opportunities. Battier won't do that nearly as well as Francis or James.</div>

Even a guy like Kidd either created by penetrating or just with his court vision to notice the holes in a defense and exploit it by passing. Watch him and you'll see that. Battier simply can't do it.

^ He can't, that isn't his game. He is a shooter, and defender. He waits for the shot he can get. He doesn't create his own offense, but he is so strong on defense.

Alright, but not all the time. The point is he is not a Point-Forward. He is a forward, with good defense and who knows the game. He is an outstanding citizen, and plays the game at a high level. But to call him a Point-Forward, is very wrong. He is one of the furthest things from a Point-Forward.

You need ballhandling skills and quickness to be able to beat your man to the basket. Battier isn't great in both departments.

Even if he posts up, no one will double him.

A guy like Wade could push him out of the post, it just isn't his game.

The only time he is going to score is when he has an open shot. Other than that, T-Mac, Francis & Yao will be controlling the offense, and scoring majority of the points.

I see no reason why Battier would even attempt posting up.

Battier is actually pretty good in the post. He pump fakes a lot then somehow throws up an ugly shot that goes in.

That said though, he's not our first option on offense or anything, let's not kid ourselves.

point forwards are never the 1st option though they are usually the 2nd like Pippen was with M.J and Penny was with Shaq.
