Per team policy, terms of the contract were not released.

Price (6-2, 190, Utah Valley State) appeared in 87 games over two seasons with Sacramento, averaging 2.9 points, 1.0 rebound and 0.7 assists in 8.2 minutes per game. Price played in 58 games (one start) for the Kings in 2006-07, and averaged 3.3 points, 1.2 rebounds and 0.8 assists in 9.7 minutes per game. He scored a career-high 16 points vs. the Jazz on November 22, 2006, one of seven double-digit scoring performances by Price this past season.</div>

Nice signing by the Jazz assuming it was around a minimum contract. From what I saw of Price in Sacramento hes got a nice future ahead of him and can contribute a bit now.

Ronnie Price has got some hops because that dunk he had on Boozer last season was absolutely insane. It's kinda funny that he's from UVSC...

Is Ronnie Price a good defender? I've never payed attention to his defense when I've watched him play. If he's not, then I don't know what the point of getting him is. Utah is taking the former King's backup PG's here (Hart played a little on the Kings before being let go). Didn't Utah just sign Jason Hart, don't they have Dee Brown on the bench? Ronnie Price isn't a good enough scorer where you play him in a Eddie House type role, isn't that good a shooter, and isn't even a good passer for a SG, so what's he really giving them?

I don't understand Utah's offseason so far, but Sloan is good at making NBDL players into good role players. I have a feeling this means C.J. Miles or Giri will be gone for sure.

See you later Dee Brown? I'm puzzled by this move, unless there's something we don't know it just doesn't make much sense, the Jazz have plenty of players at guard.

There's a rumor that Dee Brown might be heading to play in Italy for Marco Belinelli's former team. Maybe this means Utah might be letting him go or trading him [IMG]

Also, how much of this was guaranteed? Maybe he's just a camp invite.....

There's been talk that Dee Brown wanted to be a back up point guard this season, not a third point guard again. The Jazz like to have three point guards. So this signing could mean that the Jazz believe that Brown isn't coming back, and Price will back up Hart instead of Brown, assuming they stick at point guard.

If Brown doesn't go, someone else probably will. The following are under contract (or at least about to be) at guard for 07 - 08, with Brown and Miles as restricted free agents.

    PG: Williams, Hart, Price
    SG: Giricek, Brewer, Almond

If you assume that Brown, Miles, Fesenko and Araujo aren't on the roster, but Price is, the Jazz have 12 players. They typcially like to have 14. Someone should be on the way out.

I was hoping Dee would get some more playing time this season, but as someone mentioned I also heard he's got a really nice contract offer to play in Italy.
