    Summer Duty
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Jul 26 - Al Jefferson's summer just got a little more interesting. The Celtics power forward is expected to be among a group of up-and-comers who will scrimmage next month in Las Vegas against the United States national team.

USA Basketball's managing director, Jerry Colangelo, said last Sunday that he was in the beginning stages of formulating such a team, mentioning Portland's Brandon Roy, the 2006-07 Rookie of the Year, as one participant.

Jefferson's agent, Jeff Schwartz, confirmed yesterday by e-mail that Big Al will also be part of the team. -- Boston Globe</div>

So is this basically a confidence booster for team USA? They can beat some guys who have never played together and are young to when they go into the tournament they can be all high? I just don't understand the team USA will be playing.

    This dude is overrated IMO.

Just dont think he will be a premier player in this league.

I know it was a small sample size, but if you look at the stats, Al put up almost the same numbers as Dwight Howard for the year and if you look at just the second half of the season he put up Elton Brand-esque numbers.

Glad to see it, this guy can develop playing alongside the quality players in Team USA. Hopefully playing alongside Howard will help him improve his defense. He has a ton of potential and should be great playing along tougher competition trying to prove himself. I like this decision because of Jefferson's hustle and athletecism should mesh will with the USA squad.

How the hell is he overrated? The casual fan wouldn't even know who Al Jefferson is. Who overrates him?

He averaged 16.0PPG and 11.0RPG last season, his 3rd.

I dont see how you can think he is overated.

You can't Overrate Non-All Star players. Obviously no one thought he was good enough to play with the best.
