The Lakers are reportedly interested in Navarro. I think he's a great young addition to our squad, however, is he interested in joining the Lakers? MANY teams have inquired about him.

I honestly don't know a thing about this guy, but he seems to have been given a lot of interest from teams around the league. With that being said, his price may be a bit too high for us to offer. Unless he can come in and contribute right away, I say pass. We don't need more projects on this team, but I'll definetly take him for cheap, if that's possible.

Apparently, the front office has been traumatized by the recent point guards gracing the Staples Center. As it stands the Lakers already have three point guards, and now they want to add another?

Navarro is a good player, but unless the Lakers ship out Farmer or Crittenton, I'd rather go after another player with size and athleticism to fill the final roster spot.

    Or cut Sasha.

Navarro is a risk, no doubt, but he rocked the euro league last season. He could be at least a solid 10-12 PPG scorer, he's not a true PG but will be an aggresive scorer. The Lakers should consider shipping off Farmar for him.

Los Angeles Lakers Trying to Get Navarro

    <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">July 29, 2007 - 3:41 pm
    Washington Post -
Ernie Grunfeld continues to field offers for guard Juan Carlos Navarro, who recently negotiated out of his contract with FC Barcelona of the Spanish pro league. Barcelona informed Grunfeld that he has until the end of the week to trade Navarro. If a trade is not worked out, Barcelona will retain Navarro and his buyout with the team will go from $2 million to $14 million.

The Miami Heat is one of at least eight teams to express interest in Navarro but will likely drop out of negotiations after signing guard Smush Parker on Friday. According to a report, Parker's former team, the Los Angeles Lakers , could have interest in Navarro.</div>

I know for a fact that the Wizards are interested in expiring contracts and the Lakers will have to take on Etan Thomas or Brendan Haywood in any potential deal. Currently the Lakers have a few expiring contracts, Andrew Bynum, Jordan Farmar, Sasha Vujacic, and Maurice Evans. However, we know there's no chance that the Lakers would even consider giving up Bynum for Navarro.

Looking at Etan Thomas's contract, he makes 6 million in this up-coming season. So looking at the contracts it would be very hard for the Wizards to get a good deal out of this. I can't see this materializing into anything serious at this point.

GArenas, you forgot that Kwame Brown has a 9 million dollar expiring contract

Anyways, Navarro is a point guard right? We already signed Derek Fisher with basically our entire MLE, we drafted Javaris Crittenton this year and Jordan Farmar last year. I don't see the point of adding another point guard onto the roster, unless we send one packing (which we most likely will if we make this trade).

I actually like Etan Thomas. From what I've seen, which is little, he's a physical player down low and gets rebounds. He also seems like a pretty intellegent guy, but his contract is a little ugly.

Anyways, I doubt we end up with Navarro when it's all said and done. I'm not really all up for aquiring him since his price will most likely be steep, since a lot of other teams are trying to aquire him as well. I can rest asured though, with Mitch Kupchak as our GM, we're obviously not going to aquire Navarro

The Lakers best option bringing in Navarro would most likely be Jordan Farmar, if you guys don't want to add a 4th point guard in the depth-chart. I wouldn't mind bringing him in if Antonio Daniels was to get hurt during the season.

I wouldn't see where Mo Evans or Sasha Vujacic would fit in the Wizards lineup because we need to focus on developing our too rookies Dominic McGuire and Nick Young. We feel Nick could be starting over Stevenson by next season and Dominic playing big minutes behind Caron.

    I'd trade:

    Etan Thomas
    Juan Carlos Navarro

    for

    Jordan Farmar
1st round draft pick in 08

For the Wizards, is a sign and trade a possibility for Navarro, so the salaries can work out? If not, both teams should just work around that deal I posted.

No, I knew that Kwame Brown is 9 million expiring. However, I would rather kill myself than even consider bringing him back to DC even with that kind of money expiring. [IMG]
