<div class="quote_poster">Legacy Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Lol, why does everyone hate Reddick so much?</div> Because they can spell his last name. Seriously, it's because he's so dominant, or was, on the collegiate level at least. An argument could be made that he was the greatest player to ever play on the NCAA level. Not only is he Duke's all-time leading scorer, but he's the ACC's all-time leading scorer as well. Not to mention all the 3pt and FT% records he holds. It's hard to equate NCAA stats to NBA stats, but when an individual scores over 30 points for a high major club on the NCAA level, it's sort of like the equivalent of scoring 50 points on the NBA level. With that in perspective, Redick averaged just under thirty points, while playing for the most elite program in college basketball history. He also dropped 40+ points, not once, but three times his senior season, and it was at Texas, at Georgetown, and against Virginia, three great squads filled with players now in the NBA. That's the kind of talent J.J. Redick was. He's good looking, cocky, white, and he'll go into your gym and single-handedly beat your favorite team from the perimeter. What's not to hate for the average fan?

<div class="quote_poster">Legacy Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Then why isn't he living up to his expectations in the NBA?</div> He's not that great at creating his own shot. At Duke, he was largely a system player, but a damn good one. On the NBA level, he lacks the explosiveness to get to the rim, and he lacks the size and lateral quickness to play defense. You have to realize that it's still largely unseen how his success will translate to the next level though. Despite being held back by all of those aforementioned weaknesses, he's still the best shooter in the game right now, bar none. That's why he was added to Team USA amongst a bunch of All-Star level players. All things considered, 6.0 ppg in 14.8 mpg isn't that bad. You have to realize that last season was just his rookie season, and he entered it with a back injury, which kept him from playing until well into the season and kept him from working out with the team in training camp, the preseason, etc. when most rookies get assimilated into their team's systems. Orlando's coach Brian Hill (recently canned) apparently didn't like Redick much either. Stan Van Gundy will probably give him more playing time.

My issues with Randolph and Hunter stem mostly from their reactions to the John Amaechi thing. All well and good if others don't feel the same way, that's just where I'm at with it.
Why does everyone hate Richard Hamilton? Thats what I dont get. It's actually quite funny how Sheed hasnt been mentioned once, despite his constant complaining to the refs.

Sheed complains to the reffs a lot, but you know what the NBA reffs are like. Hell, we're knee deep in an organized gambling scandal (which has oddly been brushed over by the media this past week). I think a lot of people relate more to players who don't get the calls like Sheed than those who do like Rip.
Why all the hate for Keyon Dooling? He's the most down to Earth player I've ever met, and he always gives it his all each game. He never complains about how he is or isn't utilized on the court, being selfless in his actions, and is one of the more consistent combo guards I've seen. <div class="quote_poster">Legacy Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Then why isn't he living up to his expectations in the NBA?</div> He was severely underused in Brian Hill's system. When he did get playing time, he was fantastic imo. He would hit the open shot, especially near the end of the season. Also, Redick is also another pretty cool guy. If you met him in real life, you'd be surprised. I guess the hate stems from his game, like VC said. Anyway, my list: Atlanta Hawks- N/A Boston Celtics- Brian Scalabrine Charlotte Bobcats- Adam Morrison Chicago Bulls- N/A Cleveland Cavaliers- Larry Hughes Dallas Mavericks- Devin Harris (Quit flopping you little *****) Denver Nuggets- Allen Iverson Detroit Pistons- Richard Hamilton Golden State Warriors- N/A. Why are Bargnani and Korver on people's lists? I think the fact that Bargs talks **** in Italian after he hits a shot is badass. Remember, this guy was supposed to be a "horrible pick" for Toronto. Experts, my ass. I liked the one post that said "Andrew Bynum and all his fans" for the Lakers (I think that was VC's post)
