Powe is better then Perkins, but they start Perkins, which is weird. I want Powe to succed, and maybe with KG, he could get some pointers and make that next step to be a good player.

God...the celtics are scary as hell if this goes down.....they could get some decent role players around them and easily win 60 games in the east.....Mchale doing his old buddy a favor with this one.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">In THE BOSTON GLOBE, Shira Springer reports "the Celtics and the Timberwolves could reach agreement on a deal that would bring Kevin Garnett to Boston as early as this afternoon, according to league sources. Executive director of basketball operations/GM Danny Ainge would send Al Jefferson, Gerald Green, Theo Ratliff and Sebastian Telfair to Minnesota in exchange for Garnett. But as of this morning, there still remained issues on the table to negotiate, not least of which is the player option worth $24 million that Garnett holds for the 2008-09 season." </div>

    Boston

    PG - Rondo
    SG - Allen
    SF- Peirce
    PF - Garnett
    C - Perkins

    Nice looking lineup.

Here's an update from the Globe:

As the trade currently stands, the Celtics would send Jefferson, Gerald Green, Ryan Gomes, Sebastian Telfair, Theo Ratliff, and two first-round picks to the Timberwolves for Kevin Garnett

Celtics agree to Garnett deal with Wolves

Kevin Garnett is leaving Minnesota after the Boston Celtics agreed to acquire the all-star forward in a multiplayer trade with the Timberwolves, a Celtics official told The Associated Press on Monday.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Among the players who could be headed to Minnesota are forward Al Jefferson, guard Sebastian Telfair, swingman Gerald Green and centre Theo Ratliff, said the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the deal had not been completed.

The official also said the Timberwolves would get at least one draft choice.

"It's basically done," a source told FOXSports.com earlier on Monday. "If it does happen, this will make the Celtics relevant again."

Garnett, 31, has the option to get out of his contract after the 2007-08 season and become a free agent. The 10-time NBA All-Star will make $23 million next season.

Damn, this trade will put the Celtics back into finals contention. I don't think we've ever seen a trio like this here, but the question is how long will it last knowing that these guys are aging. This is pretty much a do or die in the next few years for the Celtics.

But this was a great deal for the Timberwolves. This allows them to put themself in a rebuilding mode with two great young stars like Jefferson and Green. Ricky Davis is capable enough of taking the load with KG leaving.

I'd love to see KG in green, but I don't know if I'd want to give up Big Al. I was against it before , but know it's whatever. If it happens, great and if it doesn't that's cool too.

EDIT: well, it looks like it won't matter. Sportscenter is saying the deal has been agreed upon. It's just a matter until the deal is official.

from what ive heard and read, minnesota and boston agreed on the trade, it just has to be finalized by the league. so basically, he will def be in a boston uniform next year, but its not quite official at the moment.

Yeah, almost. I except by tonight a thing on NBA.com telling us the Celtics have acquired Kevin Garnett, and that the Boston Celtics will have a free pass to the ECF. Shouldn't there be a rule against this many all-stars on 1 team?

    This team ring a bell?

PG - Steve Nash / Tony Delk
SG - Michael Finley / Marquis Daniels
SF - Antawn Jamison / Josh Howard
PF - Antoine Walker / Eduardo Najera
    C - Dirk Nowitzki / Danny Fortson

On paper, that looked like the greatest team of all-time, but the '03-04 Mavericks choked come playoff time.

I think this team's got a lot more heart and potential for chemistry though. These three players all seem pretty hungry and desperate for a ring.

This team is dangerous. If everyone stays healthy meaning Pierce and Allen, they are going to be crazy.

Is there something about KG going to resign after this season...

He plans on signing a contract extension.

Well, better off in Boston than Phoenix.
