I know Karl's a decent player, but it's kind of sad that he got an NBA contract before the likes of Ron Lewis and Dion Harris, (probably) due in large part to his last name. From what little I saw of him in the Summer League, it looked like he forced it a bit too much offensively. I guess that's how you're supposed to play in Summer Leagues to get the attention of scouts though. On another note, first Bryant, then Walton, then Gasol, and now Karl... half the NBA is related to the Lakers.

I'm not sure he makes the team or gets sent to the DLeague, but Karl was money when he had open looks. I just don't see how he adds anything to the team. The Lakers have not improved defensively outside of adding Fisher. The team didn't have any physical players last year aside from Ronny on the frontline, and they still don't.

Call me what you want, but if this is the roster that will play for the Lakers, the only games I'll be watching are those that either Kobe or Bynum (although unlikely) dominate in. I'm still hoping for a Kobe trade, and I would expect him to request a trade again if this is the team he has to play with. I really wonder what the Lakers' management are up to, they keep signing and re-signing these bad players with no potential; it's like they're neither thinking short nor long term.

Wow, bad signing. I think they should of gone after Allen Ray. He would of been sick for them. I think he is a PG/SG guy like Gibson, but with better potential. He scored 20 points 3 or more times last year and averaged just under 10 PPG and he played less then 15 minutes. He was good, to bad he is going to Italy, which is smart on his part I guess.

They need to decide if they want to win now, or start the rebuild and stock pile young talent with upside. Settling for being a mediocre team again, who could potentially miss the playoffs doesn't make any sense, especially since the team is over the luxury tax threshold.
