<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">At the 2006 NBA Draft, Minnesota selected Brandon Roy, and then traded his rights to the Portland Trail Blazers for Randy Foye. The general reaction at the time of the draft-day deal was of the "We'll have to wait and see," ilk, but as the season wore on and Roy played his way to Rookie of the Year honors, skeptics started to wonder why the Wolves made the deal. That wonderment, of course, was short-sighted and almost irrelevant; Foye vs. Roy isn't an argument that can be won or lost for a few years. Yet, when you really dig in and break down the numbers, the comparison becomes quite interesting. This article does not deal with intangible or defense and makes no claim of being entirely comprehensive. But, hopefully, we've broken down the data and circumstances well enough to show that Foye is not only right there with Roy, but has shown signs of leapfrogging everyone in his rookie class. First of all, and most importantly, Roy played 35.3 minutes per game to Foye's 22.9. That's the bottom line in terms of dictation to statistics, so we'll start right there:</div> Source I didn't include much in the summary, because there's quite a bit, but all Minny fans should give this a good read. It's quite interesting.
Randy Foye had a really underrate drookie season, considering the amount of playing time he got. With Mike James out of the picture and the youth movement officially in place, I expect him to put up some huge numbers next year for Minnesota. Randy Foye Gerald Green Corie Brewer Ryan Gomes Al Jefferson That is a nice young lineup, not to mention McCants.
^^And craig smith. Foye is just going to explode this year. I think he would've done a lot better with KG to play with, but that ship has sailed. Hopefully these young guys actually mesh together this year and we will be good sooner rather than later.
