A 12-year veteran, Henderson appeared in 38 games in two stints last season for the Sixers. He would certainly bring a veteran presence to a very young club, but the problem here is that Philly already has 14 players under contract and still has yet to sign second rounders Derrick Byars and Herbert Hill. </div>

I wouldn't mind him. We need more veterans on this roster, but like the article states, we already have 14 players under contract, and we still haven't signed both Derrick Byars and Herbert Hill. We need to do something about all the guards we have, maybe make a couple of trades or something to free up roster spots. I would hate for either Derrick Byars or Herbert Hill not to make the final roster.

Only reason I can see for us to bring Al Henderson back would be in a mentor role, similar to that of Corie Blount during the twilight of his career when the Bulls kept him around to mentor Curry/Chandler. For some reason we keep bringing Henderson back, but never give him much playing time. I would love it for him to just retire and hang around the organization as a adviser/assistant coach ala Aaron Mckie.

Is McKie really done? I know you didn't say he was, but the way you wrote that it seems like you implied it.

Agree with Blur though. He's been noted to being a guy to enstill confidence and advice to the youngens.

Mckie is technically an UFA. He has not received much interest from any team around the league, and with his financial stability he doesn't need another NBA contract. He has been working with our young guys, and coming to our practices as a player/coach type guy, but since we used the amnesty clause on him we can't sign him at least for another year.
