There's a small rumor going around, really small, but still a rumor. I read it from Emplay who writes Laker articles on Hoopsworld. I know Hoopsworld isn't the most reliable source, but Emplay seems like a pretty respectable writer when it comes to the Lakers (he seems to be respected on LG and CL).

Anyways, from what I've heard, the Orlando Magic are looking to aquire another big, and there's been rumors in the past that they may be looking at Kwame Brown. What could take place is a three-way deal, in which the Lakers trade Kwame Brown to Orlando and Jordan Farmar to Sacramento, Orlando trades Keith Bogans to the Lakers and trades Hedo Turkoglu to Sacramento, Sacramento then trades Ron Artest to Los Angeles. Again, this is just a small rumor, and it may not be anything more than just speculation, so take it with a grain of salt. But if this deal does go, we still have Lamar Odom and Andrew Bynum on our roster, which we can use to trade for Jermaine O'Neal to have a Kobe Bryant, Ron Artest, and Jermaine O'Neal trio (or we could just hold onto Lamar Odom and Andrew Bynum, but that would be no fun).

Anyways, like I said, it's probably nothing more than just speculation, but it's interesting to think about. I can right? [IMG]

If we could pull off a deal to land us Artest, and then manage to also land us JO, we'd turn in to contenders in my opinion. Our defense would go from a liability to maybe one of the best in the league and the offense remains just as good, if not better.

If Mitch pulls of a trade like this, he can put himself in the club of Mchale and Ainge. (GM's that were garbage and this summer pull of blockbuster deals).

The thing is, it's possible. It all rests on Sacramento's shoulders. If they accept the trade, then we receive Ron Artest. A deal for Jermaine O'Neal is already on the table. We could have O'Neal in a Lakers uniform today if we're willing to part ways with Lamar Odom and Andrew Bynum, landing Ron Artest may give us a reason to do so.

Again, it's probably not going to happen, so don't get your hopes up.

Maybe this was Mitch's plan from day one. Make it seem like he didn't care about the team and look retarded, and then BAM! add to All-Stars.

    There's too, obstacles to overcome.

    1. The Maloofs balked on a trade last year with the Lakers, because at the end of the day they didn't want to do anything to make us a better team. They'd prefer to ship Artest to the East, and I could Miami swooping in at the last minute and possibly sending Cook or Dorrell Wright over along with Jason Williams for Artest.

    2. I cannot see Larry Legend wanting to help the Lakers out either. I'm not sold on the fact JO will be any better than what Odom & Bynum could potentially do for us this year. If we could still keep Odom or Bynum, then I would make this trade. Adding Artest in the mix will immediately impact Odom's game in a positive way.

The key is getting the Artest deal done first. I'd have confidence in Kobe-Artest-Odom making us competitive in the West.

This would be a nice trade but lets hope that Mitch isn't too busy with his magic wand.

Artest is a cancer and O'neal is no better than O'dumb.
Due to Mitch's incompetence the Lakers have to roll the dice and bet it all on Bynum and Farmar. Place your bets! Winner-it's the lottery again.
    Fire Mitch!

So why do we have to place it on Farmar? Crittenton's potential far outweighs Farmar's.

The first trade would never work. Otis Smith has already said that he doesn't want to give up Hedo Turkoglu. There were discussions for a Pryzbilla-Turkoglu swap earlier this offseason but Smith backed down because he has been a Hedo fan from day one. I doubt we would pass on that trade and then two weeks later trade both Hedo Turkoglu and Keith Bogans just to receive Kwame Brown. The Lakers win big in this deal and I can't see why Otis Smith would pull the trigger on this.

The Lakers have a shot to get Jason Kidd, Kevin Garnett, Jermaine O'neal, Ron Artest, Carlos Boozer, Tracy McGrady (anyone remember that rumor?)...how about we all put down the crack pipe and realize that we don't got a chance to get anybody. I'm so tired of rumors, I'm so sick of Laker fans expecting to get a super-star player for a big man with potential and a borderline allstar when consistent. We're not getting anybody so let's stop with the expectations. Our starting lineup next year will be:

    Derek Fisher
    Kobe Bryant
    Luke Walton
    Lamar Odom
    Andrew Bynum

Yes, don't expect to see Kidd, O'neal, Artest, or anybody there. It's not going to happen.

If I am wrong though, I'll gladly admit my wrong.

I doubt anything goes down as well, which is why I said take it with a grain of salt. But Mamba, Tracy McGrady? Since when were we rumored to get Tracy McGrady?? I don't remember that one...
