I really hope we keep Lasme. This kid was on pace to break shot-blocking records. He's the Ike Diogu/Elton Brand of defense -- Short, a bit undersized, but powerful, with extremely long arms... The difference? He's made his bread and butter by defending, rebounding, and blocking shots... Uh, doesn't this sound like EXACTLY what our team needs? Even though I like Belly's shooting, Wright's dunks, Monta's super-speed, and POB's... sky-hook? Of all the prospects, Lasme is perhaps the most fitting for what this team needs. He deserves a chance, IMO.

He deserves a chance, IMO.</div> I agree. I'd love to have a dude that would average 2 blocks a night NOT named Foyle, in limited minutes. He could be instant defense in the paint, kinda like Diop but better. But it's unlikely he makes it to the 15 man roster. From what I know the Warriors have 14 players on the roster, and if Pietrus accepts the 1 year qualifying offer (we can't take it back now) then there won't be a spot for Lasme.

He deserves a chance, IMO.</div> Yeah AlleyOop, that is exactly what I was thinking with Lasme. He's a bit of a tweener, but his game is exactly what we need. However, we have to see if he's ready to play. That's the big question. Still, I like him for the future with AB, Monta, Marco, Brandan, and Perovic. POB? I think he's gone or it's back to D-league.
The Warriors weren't afraid to buy someone out of a guaranteed contract last year, so I wouldn't be surprised to see Cabbages paid off. Then it will be between Lasme and POB to compete to show who deserves a future spot on this team. From what I've seen of O'Bryant, it's a no brainer, he'll be playing in Europe 2 years.

He can also back up Baron who is injury prone. If there was one person I would like to buy out, it would be Foyle. I've read recently that agents generally seek 80-85% of the contract during a buy out. I don't know if Foyle wants more because this could be his final contract but I have one question regarding a possible Foyle buyout. Foyle's contract runs through the 2008-2009 season with a team option for 2009-2010. If they buy out the two remaining seasons, is the buyout spread through the two seasons or can it be spread out through 2009-2010. I doubt it can but I can't find it for sure. At least buying Foyle out would open up a roster spot, to use for the possible trade exception. I believe Mully has let the last two trade exceptions expire, this one is huge, so I hope he can use it wisely.
From what I read, GS tried to buy Foyle's contract out, but he didn't want to do it. He wanted to stay on the bench, be a pain in the ass, and collect ALL 100%, not 85%. If the reports were true, Foyle declined a buyout, and that has to be one of the most baffling things in sports history. After all the city and franchise has done for him, the least he could do in return is accept nearly 9 million dollars just to go away. Now, the most action he sees are his half-court shooting sprees during warm-ups. Class act, a shame to the game. What a conundrum.
