For just the second time in eight years, the Indiana Pacers open the National Basketball Association regular season in Conseco Fieldhouse, Wednesday, Oct. 31 (Halloween Night), against Washington as the 2007-08 NBA schedule was announced Thursday.

The Pacers find another rarity in their schedule as their second game will also be at home, Friday, Nov. 2, against Miami. This is the first time since 1991-92 the Pacers have opened with two home games. They will open the road portion of the schedule the next night, Nov. 3, at Memphis.

November?s home schedule brings some of the NBA?s top teams and players to the Fieldhouse. After Shaquille O?Neal and Dwyane Wade visit with the Heat, the Denver Nuggets (Carmelo Anthony, Allen Iverson) will be in town Saturday, Nov. 10; Western Conference Finalist Utah (Deron Williams, Carlos Boozer), Saturday, Nov. 17; the Los Angeles Lakers (Kobe Bryant) in their only trip to Indiana, Tuesday, Nov. 20; Dallas (Dirk Nowitzki) in their only visit, Friday Nov. 23; and NBA Finalist Cleveland (LeBron James), Sunday, Nov. 25.

Other schedule highlights include the Phoenix Suns? only visit with NBA MVP Steve Nash (Tuesday, Dec. 4); Indianapolis? Mike Conley and Memphis (Wednesday, Jan. 2); defending champion San Antonio (Tuesday, Feb. 5); No. 1 draft pick and Indianapolis? Greg Oden with Portland (Sat. Feb. 9); a return visit by the Cavs (Wed. Feb. 20); No. 2 draft pick Kevin Durant with Seattle (Tuesday, March 11); and a return trip by the Heat (Monday, March 31).

The Pacers? longest homestand comes in late January/early February with four games (Detroit, Houston, Orlando, San Antonio) and their longest road trip is in early January (Los Angeles Lakers, Utah, Phoenix, Sacramento, Golden State). </div>
