I'm sure a lot of college kids smoke pot, but do the rez people check your dorms for that kind of stuff?</div> You sound like a total narc. Yes, there's a shitload of pot smoking on college campuses. Did you really think otherwise? I don't know, maybe it's different up there in Canada. Just worry about yourself and your own limitations. If you don't smoke pot, that's cool, but there's nothing worse than a buzzkill. Don't be "that" guy.

Technology progresses so quickly that a 4 year old computer is basically worth nothing to universities and the like.

It'd be better to ask someone who's already there. Odds are, it doesn't matter, and if he's a pot head, he's already thought of creative sollutions to avoid the law.

That's the way it was at my college anyways. They'll address those kinda questions in the license agreement you sign.
You can ditch classes if the class professor doesn't count attendance. I took several courses where I just showed up for the exams and Aced them without attending a single session...
Man I'm excited about transfering to a University next year...but I still have no clue what I want to be. At 17, the only thing I'm really interested in is hip hop music and sports, lol...I'm thinking about going into the music bizz, journalism, maybe be an agent, or try and get my Stuart Scott on, but it seems like to be big in those fields you have to get a lot of breaks. I'm a high school senior/college sophomore but I'm kinda nervous about what I want out of my education from a career point of view. I have time though.

You might not end up doing those specific jobs, but the knowledge and connections you make with a business degree or law, opens up A LOT of doors.

I've only seen a half-handful of people that can do that with success...I tried that my first year and dug myself into a huge hole early in my college career.

Know yourself. Know how you learn, how you study, and how you succeed, and then set yourself up to do all those things.
I decided to quit toking this summer. The first semester of my freshmen year, I made it to the Dean's list (3.5 GPA or higher). I started smoking during the holidays and it's all or nothing for me, because I always pick a blunt over the hitting the books. Maybe I have to learn to say no when I need to study, but I'd rather just quit.
