Quite unexpected here. I figured they would rather resign Jarvis Hayes rather than Roger Mason, but if they thought they could save cap, then I'm all for it.

Aaron Miles making the team even on the inactive roster is a great thing. He showed a lot of composure, maturity and signs of a PG that Eddie Jordan likes. If Antonio Daniels goes down with an injury, then they can rely on Aaron Miles take his place.

Can't say I care much for Roger. He's a shooter that doesn't shoot well, and then he can't pass, rebound, or defend on the floor. At least he knows the system right?

Hayes would be more expensive than Roger, remember the Wizards are getting close to the luxury tax area.

Roger Mason Jr. is a guy who is in need of some D-League time. He as a shooter, is not good at it, and from my seeing him in Toronto, thought he was a joke. This guy is a good 3rd stringer off the bench, but why resign him, let him go else where.

Is anyone even interested in Hayes? I think Hayes can afford the paycut, which is what he deserves anyway. He's probably still got a shot in him and he's been clean and smooth for 1 year so far.

Maybe Boston could get some interest, maybe Miami, I don't know. Hayes will make at least $2 million though, while Roger Mason will make the minimum, so that's a huge difference. Right now the Wizards are only $2 million and a little under luxury tax realm. So if they were to sign Hayes, even to a $1 million contract, then no Blatche. If they did both, they would basically be paying Hayees double of whatever he's making.
