<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">What some of the Pistons' threats in the Eastern Conference did this off-season: • Boston: The Celtics had to give up a load of talented youngsters (Al Jefferson, Gerald Green and Jeff Green) in addition to two draft picks to assemble an instant contender with Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen and Paul Pierce. Sure, scrapping your rebuilding project for an All-Star trio is a huge, huge gamble. But if it works, the reward could be a trip to the conference finals. • Cleveland: Salary cap concerns haven't allowed the Cavs to do much. But when you're coming off a trip to the Finals, why tinker? If they can't reproduce their playoff run, now that the conference appears crowded at the top, King James might wish they'd made that oft-rumored move for Kings guard Mike Bibby. • Miami: If Shaq and Alonzo Mourning have another run left (and that's a major if), you can bet a healthy Dwyane Wade would love the help as he tries to make up for his injury-plagued 2006-07 season. Still, the Heat needs an infusion of energy and signing ex-Piston Smush Parker wasn't the answer. • Chicago: The Bulls re-signed center Andres Nocioni and signed former Piston Joe Smith to replace the departed P.J. Brown. Chicago drafted Joakim Noah, but the Bulls need more interior scoring to help out ex-Piston Ben Wallace. GM John Paxson must now extend the contracts of Luol Deng and Ben Gordon, who are entering the final year of their rookie deals.</div> Source: Detroit Free Press
"center Andres Nocioni" ????????? Andres is a Small Foward > _>. As for the Piston's competition, it's been there.
Either way the Pistons IMO are a top 2 Eastern Contender. They have a core that is used to each other. Add in some nice Rookies and more minutes for Maxiell and Amir Johnson. We'll be good trust me. And they got Sheed.
