Who will start besides Pierce, Allen, and KG? Your thoughts.

Definitely Rondo at PG and probably Perkins at C. I bet they'll both have very good seasons as well.

Reggie Miller and Charles Oakley. Oh and possible John Stockton off the bench.

Yeah, and Stockton could convince Malone to come back, for some extra depth at PF. Man would that be great. Didn't Pippen want to make a return a while back? And then, of course, there is Rodman... (although I'm not sure how he would feel playing on the same team as Malone...

On a more serious note though, how much cap space does the Celtics have left, and how much over the cap do you think they would be willing to go to sign a few more players?

According to hoopshype they're at 69.4 million total salary for 07-08. Thats not including the signing of Pollard, who puts them up at 70 million. The salary cap for this season has been set at 55.6 million and the luxury tax line has been set at 67.9 million. The Celts aren't even remotely close to having any cap space, and they're firmly over the luxury tax threshold. I believe they still have their MLE but I doubt that they'll use the whole thing. At this point it looks like they're just trying to fill the roster as efficiently as possible.

Allan Houston and Jamal Mashburn. Both are relatively young (compared to the others) who are NBA analysts. Goes well with the Reggie theme.

To get him a ring? Have him score off the bench. The guy can still shoot, thats all he'll need to do.

Won't he need to play some defense too? there are alot of young athletic sg/sf in the east but then again every sg/sf is young and athletic compared to him. it doesn't really work if he scores 10 a game but gives up 15.

Yeah, I think what the Celtics should aim for is to get some good defensive players, since they'll get all the offense they need from the star trio.

Well, during defense he can go sit on the bench, and when the celtics get the ball back, he'll come back.

He is still in good shape. Plus He will be guarding bench SG, which he can hold out for the most part.
