Thank God I had this Tivo-ed. The "Lakers" were only mentioned 3 times during the interview (all by Kimmel). 1st time - Kobe came in and said he hurt his back from vaccuming, and Kimmel joked saying maybe it was sore from carrying the Lakers on his back. 2nd time - Kimmel asked if Italy watches Laker games over there, which Kobe said (in a nutshell) yes. 3rd time - (This had to be the best part of the whole interview. I know that Kobe and Kimmel probably had discussions before the show not to divulge into talking about the Lakers, but 'm happy that Kimmel at least said what he said near the end of the interview). Yoyoyoyo, I was THERE TONIGHT BABY!! Me, my brother, and his girlfriend's brother showed Kobe maaaad love and Kobe gave us a nod. I made it on TV too, when Kobe comes out it shows some people clapping, then like 10 seconds later, it shows 2 more people going nuts, and I'm the one next to the guy in the 24 jersey, I'm wearing a black shirt. Was on TV for a couple secs =D and LMAO @ the chocolate rain guy's voice, oh man that was great.

Didn't Kimmel diss Kobe BAD at the ESPY's? He was talking about all the players who had babies and then said the Lakers still have their baby, Kobe. He also said Kobe whined and requested to be traded to another award show. That seems like it'd be awkward to interview him after saying all that.

I think you guys are overrating it. It's not like Kobe was beaming or anything, he was basically waiting out the applause and I think Kimmel realized he was uncomfortable which is why he moved onto to the Team USA question.
