<div class="quote_poster">Swish Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">With Johnson, some other teams including Cleveland and Golden State are also pursuing the free agent forward. </div> Where did you hear GS is after Johnson? I had never heard it before but I'm hoping its true. I think some of you guys are sleeping on Alexander Johnson though. I understand that you want a veteran so you can compete now for the playoffs but not only would Johnson be the cheapest but I think he'd be an excellent PF/C to pair with a superstar PF/C playing along side him. Obviously you guys already have Dwight, in the future that would be a beast of a frontline, although Johnson won't be an all-star or anything, he'll be a very solid all around big man. I didn't get to see him play much but Memphis fans think he was very good and were upset when he got waived. He'd be a great addition for the minimum. Evans wouldn't be a bad pickup either though. Hes a crazy rebounder and with him and Dwight playing heavy minutes you guys would dominate the boards every night. Although outside of the rebounding he doesn't give a whole lot and he has a deal that goes another 4 years IIRC.
I just heard details to this rumored Evans trade. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> One rumored trade could feature the Magic sending Keyon Dooling and Pat Garrity to Denver for Evans and enigmatic shooting guard J.R. Smith. The Magic would have to throw in another low-salaried player to make the deal work. -- Florida Today</div> <u> Magic Recieves</u> JR Smith Reggie Evans <u>Denver Recieves</u> Pat Garrity Keyon Dooling Another Low Salary Player What do you guys think of the trade now?
It was in some Cleveland paper that said the Cavs were going after Johnson and that the Warriors and Magic were also pursuing the forward. Also, some person on another board with inside sources said that Golden State and Orlando were both trying to sign Johnson. Take it for what it's worth I guess.

Evans would be great helping out Dwight with the rebounds. Evans kinda reminds me of Tyson Chandler, how Tyson averaged good rebounding numbers in limited time and when he was traded to the Hornets he got good minutes and was 2nd in the league in rebounding. I think that could be a similar situation with Evans coming to Orlando. J.R. Smith would be great in my opinion as well. He really improved his shooting last year and averaged 13ppg in only 23mpg. He could possibly even start for us. Isn't he friends with Dwight also? The only downside I can see to him is I remember he used to have kind of a bad attitude, but I haven't heard about any problems from in a while. I have no idea about Alexander Johnson, but I've heard a lot of good things about him. And considering he's young and would come cheap, I'd be for signing him.

We get rid of Garrity first off. We do also get rid of Dooling but he hasn't really played that many minutes for us anyways. We get JR Smith who is a solid SG and get Reggie Evans who's a good defender. The low salary player must be James Augustine or something to that effect.

But Idk I just always liked Keyon Dooling's energy, and this whole off-season all I hear is words of encouragement from him to his teammates. Like this whole summer he's been saying he wants to improve and not let down the team, and win as much as possible. I'll be a lil sad to see him go, but this trade would probably make Orlando better. Plus we get a big man without trading Hedo Turkoglu away like he was rumored to earlier in the summer.
