Seattle completed the deal for Branch this morning. Comfirmed on the Pats sight: http://www.patriots.com/news/index.cfm?ac=...d=21058&pcid=41 Does this change anyones thinking of how the Hawks will finish in the NFC?
What happened to the Seahawks yesterday in the Lions game? Did they leave their offense in Seattle or what? I didn't see much of the game. Were there a lot of turnovers or what?
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Pack Attack)</div><div class='quotemain'>What happened to the Seahawks yesterday in the Lions game? Did they leave their offense in Seattle or what? I didn't see much of the game. Were there a lot of turnovers or what?</div> The Seahawks Offensive Line played horribly. Alexander had only 51 yards on 19 carries with no room to run and Hasselbeck was sacked 5 times while having little or no time to throw. They also had 2 field goals blocked, so the problems extended to the special teams. The real question is how much of the horrible o-line play was the loss of Hutchinson, how much was the Lions good d-line play, and how much was just 1 bad game. Only more games will tell us for sure.
that';ll definatly be a big pickup for the Seahawks on the offensive side Branch is gonna compliment Darrell Jackson in a big way. good pickup i think they needed it
Giving up a 1st rounder for a WR that hasnt gotten more than 1000 yards in a season is dumb. Branch is a good #2 not a good #1. If seattle had the SB curse and has a losing season they would give up a top 15 pick.

Branch is being terribly overrated because of his Super Bowl MVP. Oakland once overpaid for Larry Brown who was also a Super Bowl MVP. That definitely didn't work out for them.
i will just say 1 statement here Darrell Jackson Nate Burelson Bobby Engram Deion Branch Jeremy Stevens - when he comes back tell me 1 secondary in the nfl that is equipped to cover all those guys at 1 time and be able to stop alexander aswell name 1 defense.. I think chicago has the best D in the NFL but Not sure if they could do it either

Burleson has to prove he can do something without Randy Moss on the other side.... Bobby Engram is a nice slot, move the chains kinda guy.... Branch is nothing to get excited about. I'm sorry, but I think Tom Brady made an average receiver look good. Jeremy Stevens drops every 3rd ball thrown at him...Itula Mili has better hands than Stevens. He's not the athlete or potential gamebreaker that Stevens has the ability to be, but his hands are a sure bet. You can have that group. If the Seahawks felt so great about the receivers you just named sans Branch then why trade a 1st round pick for Branch? Branch is not worth a 1st round pick. I don't care how good a person might think that corp of receivers are. Seattle does not have a true #1 receiver in that group.
2 thoughts; 1) The Pats proved that you can win w/o a legit #1 WR & 2) Belichick will probably draft another TE w/ the extra pick.
Takes a weapon away from the pats but this pick was most likely going to be very late in the draft its not a killer that they traded it away but they did get a great reciever

If Brady is the best or second best QB in the NFL Hasselbeck is in the top 5 or 6. Brady averages 7.46 yards per attempt while Hasselbeck averages 7.43 yards per attempt.

Brady carried his team to the playoffs last season. Hasselbeck has had the benefit of one of the best running games in the NFL. New England was decimated in the running game and significantly on defense last year. I don't care how close their stats are. Hasselbeck is no Tom Brady.
Hass is probably the best QB in the NFC right now. Although that says more about the conference he plays in than it does him.

I'm arguing that Brady's one of the top 2 QBs in the NFL and that Hasselbeck is in a group a step below that. If Matt's coasting on the running game how did Seattle beat Washington in the second round or the playoffs last year when Alexander got hurt in the first quarter? If Tom Brady is God's gift to the NFL why couldn't he overcome the poor running game and defense that New England had last year? I'll tell you why. Both guys need the other 52 men on their team to play well to get it done. In 2003 and 2004 the Pats Defense ranked 7th and 9th respectively while Seattle ranked 19th and 26th. With a great QB and a solid defense New England won back to back Superbowls while Seattle couldn't get out of the first round of the playoffs. Then last year the Pats defense slipped down to 26th and even though Brady had a great year again (maybe his best?) they lost in the second round. Meanwhile the Hawks defense improved to 16th and they went to the Superbowl. A Superbowl, btw, in which Hasselbeck played a good game but didn't get enough help from the other 52 guys and Seattle lost. I guess you don't like stats because you can use facts to prove anything that?s even remotely true.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (blackadder)</div><div class='quotemain'>Belichick will probably draft another TE w/ the extra pick.</div> lol hey they might have to if they can't get Graham to resign next season.
