I remember we pursued him a while back, so will Rod Thorn look to get him again, rather than make a huge deal for O'Neal?

I think Howard could be a good addition to the Nets, without giving up to much. Maybe Thorn will offer Marcus Williams and some picks for Gomes and Howard. I think though, to bring in Howard, gets in the way of Sean Williams and his development, which I strongly believe in.

I don't see New Jersey trading Marcus Williams at all.

I know they won't, why would you? I'm just saying, why Juwan Howard. I say go with O'Neal, and if no O'Neal, go with Sean Williams who will learn the game the tough way. Should be good for him.

Yeah, no way in hell. Kidd can still dominate the game, but in three or four years, you won't find a better replacement than Laptop. He's an insanely undrrated talent as is, but then when you consider the dearth of pass-first point guards in today's game, he simply becomes untradable.

I like the idea of trading for Howard. He's really just what this team needs if they can't land O'Neal, but I think an good trade would be more along the lines of something like Collins and Boone for Howard and Gomes. New Jersey would get the upperhand in that trade talent-wise, but Minnesota would get rid of two players who don't want to be there in favor of an expiring contract (Collins) and a player who fits into their youth movement (Boone). It'd be a great trade for both parties.

I thought Howard had a huge contract?

Well he's getting paid close to $7 million next season, and has a player option for the 2008-2009 season.

He's 34 years old right now, but we could have him come off the bench. I think we should go for it since our approach is "win now".

Master Shake, what are you smoking? Marcus Williams and some picks for Juwan Howard and Ryan Gomes!? I would sure hope Rod Thorn would be fired if that trade was ever made.

Anyone one but Howard! For any price greater than veteran's minimum. He is a candidate for the MWP: Mosted Washed-up Player.

I like it[IMG] It was an option. It will never happen. I think give up no one for him but future picks.

Ouch. No way that we're giving up Marcus Williams AND picks (him alone is too much) for a washed up PF whose a backup PF at best and a decent youngster. If we're not bringing Jermaine O'Neal, then we need a defensive minded, younger guy.
